"Sanity" is a blip that happened to pop up while i was rehearsing for the first SANITY sessions event @ Valentin Stuberl in Berlin (feb 17th, 9pm donaustr 122)

the event will be an ongoing series of nights dedicate to dancefloor soul, jazz and funk of the past present and future.  it fills a need in "my" soul.  I need a particular levelof intensity to truly feel that i am part of the music and the space, otherwise i do actually go a little insane so for my own "sanity", I will be doing these events for as long as i live in the city of Berlin so bookmark this page for musical updates concering THE SANITY SESSIONS.

this piece was recorded in Detroit at the Chabad house on dec 5 2015 and is the last recording using the exo-voice.  soon after this recording, i mailed it to one of my crowdfunding campaign contributors to minimize its effect on the next stage of development i was in the midst of beginning.  this represents the systemic range of that construct and hints at the range of possibilities of the next version.

yesterday, looking out at the spree from Oberbaumbruke, this blip manifested itself.  increasingly, i feel as if the music plays me, rather than the other way around.  this is my proof.  I zoned out to Drexicyan Mythology and this was the result.  if you dont know about Drexicya, google it....you wont be sorry...

I did this on the street (strasse) in Berlin.  it is a raw recording of the live improv beatjazz set i did.  its starting to get interesting with these busking sets now, as it feels like the ideas are distilling much more easily.  More to come definitely.

A friend of mine, here in Berlin, Turned me onto a quirky blog written by a double expat ( from Washington DC AND London) by the Alias Paula Varjack. In her own words, she likes to "kiss and tell" and i found myself getting into her story, as some aspects parrallel my own,( america to london to berlin, relatively), so i emailed her and back and forth and "VOILA!" my first Berlin born joint AND collaboration, all in one.

this set was significant because the previous year(2007), after my mother had passed, i returned to san francisco to busk a new form of beatjazz, unique from the previous styles in that it was completely improvised.
i had already decided to move to berlin at some point, with my criteria for rolling out being that i would play something using this new performance logic, that would instantly let me know that i was ready and that i could finally move...
