I was in the UK last year after a massive summer of touring, caught the train down to Brighton with some friends, and ended up in an incredible studio overlooking the beach. I was missing home a bit, but feeling really inspired and wanted to write a feel-good record, reminding myself of the importance of saving time for the ones I care and love. Whilst (In the studio) overlooking the same site Fatboy Slim hosted his ‘Big Beach Boutique’, I was thinking about the UK’s dance music history, it inspired me, and decided to lean into the idea of writing something that sounds sampled, but isn't. I often like to write records completely on my own, but it feels so perfect to have written this one alongside some good pals — Clementine Douglas, Caitlin Stubbs & Toby Scott.

TWENTY SIX's rise to prominence in house music has been nothing short of meteoric. From small beginnings on underground labels in 2020, he first gained fame with his brilliant re-edit of "Stan" in 2022. His rewiring of Dido's topline to a slow-burning tech beat chimed with DJs and today's dancefloors. Its 4M+ streams and Fisher support (amongst others) are perhaps part of the spark that spawned this year's EDM version. And it's not just his DJ-friendly reworks that are grabbing the headlines, "Buscando Money", the insanely catchy song he wrote with Tayson Kryss is currently exploding on the viral charts all over South America. "Rehab", as you might guess, recreates Amy Winehouse's classic but with an on-point sped-up twist. It sounds like it shouldn't work, but if you've been at any of TWENTY SIX's DJ shows, you know it does. So well!
