Scio Yak is a fictional future beast that exists in an apocalyptic era. 
Turbulent climates bring drones with sand. Yet water scours a pair of eyes.
The echoes shift among omen, salvation, oracle, and healing. Only a sudden instinct meant to bring ultimacy. 
The inner beast has just left the tenderness and fierceness on the ground. 
Before everything is gone in ruins, something glowing is in the last drifting cinders.

An ode to failure!

Departing from the image of the genius artists, the Hit&Miss compilation wants to show the hidden parts of creation, by embracing missteps and abandonment as a natural part of any artistic journey. 

Open to all members of the Global URL Nation, it proposed a new home for projects that couldn't find a place to exist otherwise, due to artistic (self-)exigency, technical problems, bad timing or any other reason often unknown to the general public. 

With more than 20 artists from a broad range of styles, experience and locations, it gathers unfinished projects such as aborted WIP, forgotten drafts, lost files, unconvincing demos, compulsive emotional bursts or technical experimentations. 

With all its flaws and raw cuts, Hit&Miss asserts the strength of trial and error, and cherishes the impossibility to develop an idea into a finished object as a learning process towards one's growth.

It is hard to describe with words, but maybe the term „Braindance“ (imagine artists like Aphex Twin, Autechre, Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, Boards of Canada, μ-Ziq) captures the mood of the music accurately. It's like a living organic-electronic-hybrid thing, something between a modular synthesizer, a liquid alien-like creature, and a plant all in one."

Exhalation is the debut compilation of ÖÖÖ, which embodies the label's main theme of "Primitive Future". The concept captures the essence of a universal cycle that encompasses physical and spiritual elements for generating life, intelligence, and emotion. It speaks to the movement of life forms in all their subtlety or grandeur, from humans, creatures to planets, from unknown beings to unpredictable happenings. Exhalation is rooted in the origin of natural orders and chaos since time immemorial.

Participated artists are crossing different continents of the earth - SÁCCEA (@sacce4), Aestum (@aestum), e6c41 (@e6c41), Iva Peralta (@ivaperalta) Ylateau (@ylateau), Anh Phi (@anh_phi), Locre (@locr3), Ice_Eyes (@ice_eyes), Azelsgöattii (@goattii), Toby Davis (@toby_davis), Klusā Daba (@klusa_daba).

The artists developed their envision of the theme through different sonic landscapes - from futural energy paradise, turbulent apocalypse earth cracks, cult incantation from posthuman tribes, the nirvana of subconscious struggles, to oracle lights and dreamlike chants that heal wounds... The first single from aircode's new album 'Surface Tension' (G&P025), out September 24, 2023 

Julia Svensson alias @aircode is a Swedish producer and sound designer based in London. In the past years Julia has been leisurely refining her signature out-there blend of gloomy yet elegant sound distinguished by an incorporation of slack piano tones and timid vocals intertwined with bleak samples and worn-out dub rhythm cameos. Since her first output via TT (fka Tobago Tracks) in 2019 she's been steadily releasing music via imprints like Alien Jams and Nostro Hood System, or just lowkey through her own bandcamp page. After helplessly drowning in her music since we first heard it, we are now more than honored to have the opportunity to present Julia's sophomore full-length album 'Surface Tension'.

Building on her past work, Surface Tension is an especially electrifying creation. Higher density sounds are gliding on an unfolded surface without ever being fully submerged, complementing each other into an enticing and immersive listen. With Julia's music, the long-depleted term 'sonic landscape' suddenly makes much of a sense. Captivating with it's well-measured approach, it draws an attentive listener into a world of intricate and finely nuanced compositions in which an unrushed precision and intuitive approach to writing can be clearly sensed.
“Surface tension tends to make a drop spherical, gravity tends to flatten a sessile drop and elongate a pendant drop, and the electric field typically elongates a drop along the direction of the field” - says science. Similar to the dichotomy of a liquid dripping process, Surface Tension inherently shifts into two distinct mood opposites. Straight from the beginning of the record a palpable tension can be felt, hinting at a series of inevitable plot twists that keep the listener submerging in its enthralling waves. While most of the tracks start with a calm before a storm, halfway through 'Slow Burn' or 'Dissimilar Liquids' Julia delves into the very depths of dank dubstep bass. Surface Tension weaves a vibrant narrative - at times a confluence of serene comprehension other times bordering on a pleasure of suffocating in its intensity.

Fresh off of remix duties for Catnapp and blistering appearances on compilations from Altar Club and Flash Recordings, Tufi here delivers a reflective mix of vital hi-tech concoctions, expertly guiding the listener through a deep web of layered complexity. A trip through a distorted landscape, from curiosity through chaos to a final knowing calm.

Tufi is an Argentinian DJ, producer, and sound engineer based in Berlin. In their artistic output they allow a diversity of musical genres to converge through wild, experimental productions and DJ sets. While exploring eclectic and deviant niche electronic subgenres, Tufi relentlessly hops between styles, enchanting listeners with hard-hitting breakbeats and blissful sonic sensations.

Tufi has some exciting collabs on the way with Digitonica, Oliver Torr, Candie, land_scape, and personalbrand. Definitely one to watch.
