Aproximaciones is the third LP released by Ópalo. In this occasion producer Alejandro Romero join forces with guitarist Francisco Moyota aka 180. Both colleagues known each other from college, where they learn all about music production and sound engineering. After some years spent in their own projects, they decided to collaborate and create something that reflects their background. 

Both musicians have a taste for rock, downtempo and electronic music. Combining these genres they put together a nine track musical journey that evolve continuously to tell a story of music and freedom. For this purpose Alejandro participate as keyboardist and bassist, playing synths and fx, while Francisco played some magical riffs and melodies that give the album an organic and mystical content.

Ópalo es el alias del dj/músico y productor Alejandro Romero. El objetivo de este nombre es dar un concepto a la música de estilo experimental, downtempo y ambiental que propone el artista. Con este alias Ópalo ya ha lanzado un LP en su propio sello ‘Caracteres’. Para sus presentaciones en vivo Ópalo usa dos formatos, un dj set o un live set. Sus dj sets son conocidos por mezclar música de varias épocas, especialmente conceptos experimentales dentro del downtempo. Sus live sets cobran un sentido más bien introspectivo en donde el artista aprovecha para mostrar sus procesos dentro del estudio a la hora de componer. En retrospectiva Ópalo es un proyecto que propone sonidos urbanos, profundos y de contenido humano usando un lenguaje futurista que a la vez recicla elementos del pasado, especialmente de la música noventera.

Dealing With Love es un disco que mezcla sonidos de la electrónica, el IDM y el downtempo. El contenido del disco podría ser considerado de carácter esotérico, sin embargo hay matices que también invitan al desahogo y a ver las cosas de adentro hacia afuera. El proceso del disco busca integrar las distintas partes que el artista ha ido trabajando con sus relaciones interpersonales. La mayoría de las canciones fueron compuestas en las afueras de Quito en una comunidad dedicada a la permacultura. Dealing with love es una exaltación a las emociones fuertes que despiertan tanto el trabajo manual, intelectual y espiritual.

Our next premiere is from the lovely Mexico-based label @secuencias_temporales, with an eccentric collection of lush hypnotic electronica from talented producer @opalomusic. This particular track dances in the realms of electronica with punchy bass notes and hypnotic overlays. Another stellar release from one of our favorite labels.

Ópalo is the alias of the dj/musician and producer Alejandro Romero. 
The purpose of this name is to give a concept to the experimental, downtempo and ambient style music that the artist proposes. 

With this alias Ópalo has already released an LP on his own label 'Caracteres'. For his live performances Ópalo uses two formats, a dj set or a live set. His dj sets are known for mixing music from various eras, especially experimental concepts within downtempo. His live sets take on a rather introspective feel where the artist takes the opportunity to show his processes inside the studio when composing. 

In retrospect Ópalo is a project that proposes urban sounds, deep and human content using a futuristic language that at the same time recycles elements from the past, especially from the music of the nineties.

Dealing With Love is an album that mixes electronic, IDM and downtempo sounds. The content of the album could be considered esoteric in nature, however there are nuances that also invite to let off steam and to see things from the inside out. 

The process of the album seeks to integrate the different parts that the artist has been working with his interpersonal relationships. Most of the songs were composed in the outskirts of Quito in a community dedicated to permaculture. 

Dealing with love is an exaltation to the strong emotions that awaken both manual, intellectual and spiritual work.
