Story for the inclined:
I wrote this tune before I ever hit the road in any capacity. Months later, I found myself in the San Antonio Riverwalk, playing it on my Squeezebox. This piece has arguably carried me more than I've carried it. Sometimes I just write songs to inspire future versions of myself--those tunes are genuinely what I sing when I'm walking on my onesie, to this day.

Epic Alternative Piano Rock--maybe be my favorite song I've ever written and has saved my life (you've no idea how literally) more than one time. It's also the Theme of the Fictional Comedy Podcast, Ope! Legends of Rapsia!

The Reins is a song I wrote like a decade ago--I don't actually recall writing the ol' gal. However, once upon a Rocky Mountain white-out, when the E break, and growing up on a dirt road were the only thing sparing me from the sudden break lights before me.

I triumphantly sang this song as I navigated the literal lethal conditions out there in Wyoming. To wit:
I spend the next three nights in Laramie, unable to leave due to the one road out of town--that upon which I slid in on--was gated closed.

Bittersweet note:
I am thankful for the family I see my son and his mother forming. I am thankful for every smile I glimpse from afar.
My heart wrenches that it's not me holding him up for the camera, I'm crying as type this in fact.
But I have been professionally declared unstable. Shortly thereafter, I was all-but exiled from my circles of friends, coworkers, and my family. I take full responsibility where it is indeed due, and force myself to see the effects that I regrettably, consistently, and involuntarily illicit in others.

I don't want that for him.
I didn't choose to separate us, and it damn near killed this past Summer. But as the smoke settles across my field of vision, I cannot help but know that stability is what he deserves. 
Beyond truth, what I value to be experience, and every self-inflicted injury:
I can see that they are normalizing.

I am grateful for his peace, safety, and that I am still here, protecting from afar and pouring all that's left of me into what I hope will develope into money, notable money, for him. 
Moreover, when he sees that I spent all the time we were forced to be away from each other, working to better his future--through lonely holidays, torurously long moments, and suicide attempts--I work for him and because it is all I have to keep my proverbial hand from slipping.
I love you, my beautiful and brilliant son.

And reader, I thank you for taking the time to ponder this with me. Do not suffer alone but by choice, I am here for you;
I am grateful, for you.
