Jimmy D. Lennon is a vocalist and songwriter for Flamingos and Vice Squad Music, which are both electronic dance music record labels based in Bali, Indonesia. As a teenager, Jimmy was exposed to electronic music in Chicago which led him to producing underground music events in the Midwest. He then moved to Los Angeles, attended UCLA, and cultivated his skills as a singer and songwriter. He is a member of American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Jimmy Charted #20 on iTunes in Austria for the release THC.

"Let Mercy Be the Victor" – How a Young Singer Breaks the Silence
Basta is 27, the son of illusionists – but his art has nothing to do with deception. In a world accustomed to suffering, his music is an act of humanity.

In a city that never truly understands itself – Las Vegas, city of masks and mirrors – a boy is born who understands early on that light doesn't always warm. He grows up behind red curtains and floating assistants, between applause machines and the tired smile of magic. His parents, celebrated magicians, perform disappearances night after night. And his son? He observes.

Today he is 27 and calls himself Basta. Not because he's finished – but because enough is enough. Enough of looking away. Enough of forgetting. Enough of sugarcoating things.

His first release isn't a single in the traditional sense. No chorus for playlists, no hook for the algorithm.  "Let Mercy Be the Victor" is a kind of prayer – or a lament. A memory. Perhaps a testament. Perhaps a birth.

"I didn't want a party. No cake. No song in my name. I wanted someone to look," says Basta. And indeed, this song wasn't written for him – but for those who lose every day. For children born into ruins. For mothers who can no longer find a name for their grief. For countries where even God lowers his gaze.

The lines of his song echo like a quiet call through dark rooms:
"Let mercy be the victor, let all the guns fall still. My birthday wish is simple: Send aid, not power or will."

Those who listen to Basta don't hear anger – they hear wounds. And they hear dignity. The music is reduced to the essentials: voice, words, truth. No masquerade. No flickering. Only what remains when the stage is empty.

He wears the age of 27 like others wear a coat in a storm.  Too many before him – Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse – disappeared in this year of their lives. But Basta stands. Still. And he knows how fragile this standing is.

"I never believed that music could save the world," he says, "but I believe it can remind us that we are human."

Basta is no poster boy. No social media wunderkind. His face is unknown – not yet. But his voice remains. Because it asks questions where others remain silent. Because it doesn't entertain, but gets under your skin.

He is the son of illusionists – but his art knows no tricks. On the contrary: It reveals what otherwise remains hidden. It makes visible what is repressed. It hurts because it wants to heal.

Let mercy be the victor. Perhaps that's too much to ask. Perhaps it's exactly what we've forgotten to ask for.

Basta doesn't want a career. He wants a conscience. No spotlights. Just a light. 

And sometimes – very rarely – that's enough to make the world pause for a moment.
