This week we are honored to welcome 'COOkie' on for our 50th edition of intercepts. A well known name in the Australian dance scene as both an artist and event organiser.  

COOKie (Andrew Cook) has been in and around the Melbourne dance music scene for just under 20 years. As a DJ he has performed at almost all major clubs still standing and also played at many outdoor events and festivals with the highlights being Afrikaburn and Rainbow Serpent Festival. COOKie now runs Morning After Agency, which has just celebrated it’s 5th year of touring & representing Domestic & International artists as well as running club and outdoor events Including the annual event The Enchanted Garden Party.
2021 looks to be promising year for COOKie and Morning After with the launch of a multi day camping festival scheduled for April called Interstellar Groove Festival.

We love what COOkie and the Morning After crew are doing for the Australian dance scene and we can't wait to work with them in the future.

Another complete collection of progressive house, smooth techno, and uncategorizable gems paint the aura of the magnificent eucalyptus trees that encompass the heart of the Australian festival scene.

Eucalyptych is a response against the normalized order of the music industry, crumbling the fabricated borders. By inviting the owner of a label to compile a release for a label that is not their own, we can deepen the connection, collaboration and strengthen the sound.

As Australian pleasure seekers, we are extremely fortunate to be blessed with our festival scene as colourful and vibrant as it is. We get to doof in landscapes that vary from low plateau deserts to rangelands through to rainforests. We are surrounded by fauna made up of unique creatures that embody our true native spirit. We are also extremely lucky to be exposed to our underground dance music producers, who are cut from a different cloth as well. One genius in particular brings the true essence of Australia to life, through mind blowing sound design and exquisite composition. The one and only - DOPPEL. 

This weeks premiere  'Shroud Of Sepia' just slots itself into the class above. A journey that induces visuals of old sepia photographs of flooded gum trees breathing, with vibrant colours and psychedelic grains moving with the sonic winds. A simple, yet powerful work of art by the Aussie maestro, we consider this to be Doppel's magnum opus. A track that will send goose pimples down your spine, whether you be dancing under the rain or under the shades of the eucalyptus trees, sun kissed by our famous golden sunset. 

This premiere is made more special by the collaboration with Open Records, a platform that has done extraordinary things to create and shape a sub-genre, the signature Aussie "bush techno" sound.

Open Records is a techno, house and electronica imprint based out of the sunny state of Queensland, Australia. Founded in the lush tropical paradise of Cairns in 2007 and now managed out of the bustling metropolis of Brisbane, Open has grown into a respected and prolific label with more than 70 releases from artists in all corners of the globe.

The Open sound is just that. Over the years we have released everything from deep, organic, progressive and tech house, to staunch minimal, hypnotic tribal, driving techno and abstract electronica. What has remained constant is our desire to represent the intelligent, groovy, dancefloor-oriented sound of the Australian festival and party culture, with a little help from our friends around the world, too.
