In episode 1 of the CoDi Off-Grid podcast Ash Cooke talks to sound artist and founder of the Shift arts organisation Jon Ruddick.
Shift is a working and performance space based in Cardiff which aims to help artists share practice and collaborate. In the interview Jon talks about Shift’s structure, history and development and his future plans for the organisation.

Peiriant pursue moods of minimalism, drone, post-rock, soundscape and spoken word. Their semi-improvised compositions summon mellifluous and somatic audio environments, characterised by the push/pull tonal relationship between the two instruments.

This song is a rather old track that I simply love of mine. Written when I was just starting to compose professionally I love the rawness of my melody and piano writing and the very OTT ending.

Instead of a simple song I tend to think of this as a duet between piano and singer due to the piano's soloistic passages. Almost you could say that this was semi operatic.

This song was meant for Mezzo-soprano but due to lack of resources you will have to put up with my rather dubious counter-tenor.

In the meantime, the young folks of Cardiff West CHS should not be denied their listen again feaure, so here it is again but without Bruno Mars!

This is show number 2 of 6 from a group of young people taken from across YR7/8/9 to make a crack radio broadcasting team.

They worked exceptionally hard to produce this stunning piece of live radio. Part of the Arts Council of Wales brilliant initiative, this exercise was designed to improve the love of writing with a focus on confidence with language. The project "what you say matters" is about getting back to real words and their meaning!

Cardiff West Radio Show No2

'Who We Are' was commissioned by the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain to open their concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2016. It broadly addresses themes of unity and identity, using various iterations of the words 'who/we/are/you/I/don't/know'.

It was written for massed youth choirs - Girls' Choir, Boys' Choir, Training Choir, Main Choir and Chamber Choir Girls - but the choir parts can be divided up amongst a large (100+) youth choir.

Written for pianist Késia Decoté in the summer of 2018 for the 'Candles' concert series, the title means Forwards in Brazilian Portuguese (Késia's first language).
