Tropes is a series of text cards. These cards are to be used to form a free improvisation duo piece. The text describe particular settings. Each card includes a title, a description of a setting, and some empirical value of some part of the setting which deeper defines the situation. For example, one card reads “Worn: sunburn on your right arm -- June 2nd”. Each player is to have the same number of cards, and move from one card to the next together, which clearly defines the form of the piece. The players should think of the description of text on each card, and in their playing, respond to that information. Crystal wrote this piece in Spring, 2012.
