Outsiders @ Kiosk Radio

Legend has it: every summer in the far west of Lithuania, on a picturesque peninsula of Kuršių nerija, Opium Club tribe gathers for four days and nights of dance rites. The festival is called Ant Bangos, Lithuanian for ‘on the wave’, and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

To mark the occasion, Ant Bangos has teamed up with LTP Records and Green Lakes Pressing plant to deliver a limited edition of coloured and hand-numbered vinyls, featuring four exclusive, previously unreleased tracks. All compositions come from long-standing Opium Club and Ant Bangos residents Manfredas, Pletnev and Roe Deers, as well as the label owner and artistic director of the festival V.

The vinyl will be available exclusively at the festival and distributed worldwide by Word And Sound later on. The compilation can also be streamed on all major streaming platforms. Digital copies are available via LTP Bandcamp page.

We could hardly imagine Ant Bangos without an all-day Sunday afterparty at Zuikio daržas and the latter one without @aisteregina. Not once has she earned standing ovations for igniting the crowd in the middle of a picturesque pine grove. That is why we asked her to record the last episode before this year's festival edition. Emociškai eletkrizuojanti atmosfera ir gera garso sistema.

Kaip susipažinai su muzikine scena?

Manau tai buvo labiau atradimas nei pažintis. Pirma, tai prasidėjo nuo paprasčiausių track'ų, po to vystėsi į albumus. Bet tikrąjį susižavėjimą atradau klube, klausant per gerą garso sistemą ir tada supratau, kad noriu būti ant muzikinės scenos, o ne už jos. Dabar tai jau nuolatinė kelionė – scena yra ne vieta, o pokytis, kurį matau ir kurį kuriu pats.

Kas tave motyvuoja naktiniame gyvenime?

Naktį miestas kvėpuoja kitaip, mane motyvuoja žmonių energija, užsidegimas ir naujos pažintys. Nakties metu laikas eina kitaip ir tu atrandi naujų žmonių, naujų atlikėjų ir atrodo, kad tai niekada nesibaigs.

Kas jus motyvuoja naktiniame gyvenime?

Užburianti žmonių energija, bendruomenės jausmas bei kylanti saulė po nakties, kai prasideda magija apipintas laikas šokių aikštelėje.

Kaip susipažinai su muzikine scena?

Pirmą kartą su klubine scena susipažinau draugo atvestas į Gravity klubą, nuo ten prasidėjo mano pažintis nebe žiūrint Viva TV, klausant perrašytų kasečių, piratinių kompaktų ar nuripintų mp3, o matant, jaučiant ir šokant.

Kas tave motyvuoja naktiniame gyvenime?

Jei vienu žodžiu —  potyriai. O jei keliais, tai naktiniame gyvenime randu tris dalykus kurie mane džiuginana: muzikos kuriami pojūčiai, atsipalaidavimas ir iškrova šokiu bei bendravimo malonumas. O šiuo metu smagu ne tik dalyvauti naktiniame gyvenime, bet ir kurti tai kitiems ir grojant ir organizuojant.

Kokį vieną tracką būtinai sugrosi?

Pastarosiom dienom nuolat leidžiu Frequency - Systematic Input, tai manau jis atsidurs ir set'e. Vakar visą rytą su sūnum leidom šitą ant repeat ir šokom ruošiantis nuo lovos iki durų.

Kaip susipažinai su muzikine scena?

Su muzikine scena susipažinau gan anksti. Nidoje, 2017 metais, užsukau į „Ant bangos“ afterparty Zuikio darže valandai prieš jam pasibaigiant. Tai buvo pirmas kartas šokių aikštelėje — ten ir pabandžiau kartu drauge su publika palinguoti.

Nuo to vakaro, vis dažniau apsilankant vakarėliuose, manyje užsidegė noras pačiai pabandyti stoti už pulto ir pradėti dalintis savo selekcija.

Kas tave motyvuoja naktiniame gyvenime?

Labiausiai motyvuoja — gilesnis pasinėrimas į muziką ir jos kuriamą nuotaiką. Įsitraukimas bei smalsumas kaip laisvai žmogaus kūnas įsilieja į ritmą, kaip sukuriama bendra, įdomi atmosfera.

Kokį vieną tracką būtinai sugrosi?

Hit Back Bow – Isolée Remix (Sex in Dallas, Biladoll, Isolée). Patiko šio kūrinio įtraukiantis skambesys, primenantis pirmuosius apsilankymus „Opium“ klube.

Pažintis su pačia scena prasidėjo dar nuo ;radinių klasių, iki pat dabar atsimenu Global Underground 021 mixtape’ą nuo kurio būtent ir pradėjau žavėtis tiek elektronine muzika, tiek scena. Kalbant apie pažintį su pačia scena tai viena iš pirmųjų buvo apsilankymas Opiume 2015 metais.

Dabar gi kartu su ja ruošiamės keliauti prie jūros, nes šis miksas – pats tas prailgintam savaitgaliui Nidoje.

The latest Ant Bangos Festival podcast is provided by a young lady with a beautiful soul. Kaunas-based @gemayelsandra is a resident at the city’s famous Lizdas club. Seems like this was not enough for a breakthrough dj as 2020 brought her New Blood title at friendly Opium. Now it’s time to take a trip to the seaside with Sandra. Her groovy selection for an extended summer weekend in Nida sounds just great.
