Our next guest is not only a talented artist, but also does he brew his own beer. Canadian producer and DJ Monarke presents his very own Watermelon Lime Gose, a fantastic and delicious start into the new week! 

Monarke has already made a name for himself on the music scene, currently being released through Berlin based label STEYOYOKE and multiple collaborations with Soul Button’s. His music is defined as an eclectic range of productions ranging from ethereal techno to melodic electronic music. It’s not hard to see why Monarke has gained support from the like of Joris Voorn, his track ”Passage” was a Highlight of his 2020 Awakening performance, released on the famous ”global underground” compilation.

Without question our annual New Years celebration is my favourite week of the year. Five nights of music, workshops, fun, food, love and community. This event was truly a special one and possibly the best yet, everything was perfect and the magic was palpable. 

I was lucky enough to play in the forest on New Years Eve after our very special guest Roger Martinez. The day started with Progressive house and was to end with Techno, I was the bridge in between so you can expect a bit of everything.

Following the release of Crimsen's amazing collaboration with Feyln Feat. Oliver Wickham "Grey Skies, Crimsen is on the podcast duties!

Crimsen is about the groove. His basslines are undeniable. His productions are full, lively and sexy. He’s a producer that knows the studio and knows the dance floor – the guy knows what works. His production career started in the refined world of chill-step under the influence of Phaeleh. After taking cues from producers like Nathan Barato, Jamie Jones and Manuel de la Mare, Crimsen’s upcoming musical output in 2018 grows out of tech-house into new worlds. He plans more ‘song’ focused arrangements and is currently experimenting with the introduction of other genres into his electronic music work. “I’m just looking to pack more excitement into the tracks”. Crimsen approaches his DJ sets with the mindset and disposition of a producer. His energy is embodied in his full control of the sound pouring forth from the speakers as he works loops and sound effects into the sets. Playful samples and memes from current events make appearances when he takes the controls in the booth, adding an element of edge to the Crimsen club vibe. Born in India, raised in Qatar and Kuwait, Crimsen now calls Toronto home. He has conducted the dance floors of CODA, One Loft, Electric Island and Circus in Montreal. His records under his former artist alias “FunkXRish” have been released by Smiley Fingers, Chapeau Music and Claps Records. And so from these wide influences, for Crimsen it always comes back to the groove. And that’s music to everyone’s ears.

Brian Cid is a Brooklyn based DJ & producer with a level of musical talent that has taken the underground electronic music scene by storm. His original productions have found homes on a number of the most credible and tastemaking record labels, with a style that touches melodic techno, deep house, progressive house and more, with no boundaries whatsoever.

This catalogue of innovative, genre-defying tracks has given Brian the opportunity to grace the decks at some of the best clubs, parties, & events across the globe. It’s also led to a DJ Mag ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ nomination, and Billboard Dance to state that he has “undeniably proven himself an artist to watch”. Brian’s debut album Meteorite Man has been released on the legendary label Balance Music, alongside his original productions that can be found on imprints such as Fabric, Lost & Found, Flying Circus, Supernature, Knee Deep In Sound, Get Physical, microCastle, Manjumasi, Cityfox & more.

Support on his music has come across the board from both longstanding DJ legends, as well as the new wave of club tastemakers. Everyone from Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, and Joris Voorn, to Adriatique, Damian Lazarus, Thugfucker, and Tale of Us have championed the sounds of Cid. With his passion for nightlife, as well as some memorable club experiences in the NY scene, Brian’s DJ career was born out of his organic talent for mixing melodic, lush, sublime & unexpected sounds.

Never one to be content in his accomplishments, the next chapter in the musical journey of Brian Cid is the recent launch of his project Endangered: a deep journey to the eclectic side of electronic music. The Endangered concept is both a record label for Brian to showcase his own music as well as other high-caliber artists he respects, but also an event series that combines music with live performance & art. With Endangered coming to life, a calendar full of releases, and an ongoing global tour, the best is yet to come for Brian.

Opposite Direktion’s mission is to be messengers of deep instrumental house music with groovy baselines. Both born in Lebanon, Elie & Roland have spent the last 5 years perfecting their sound and distinctive style from their studio in the heart of Montreal. With each having a unique personality, different schools of thought and musical backgrounds, they’ve created a dynamic melodic sound layered with elements of deep, minimal/deep tech and progressive music. 
Having started as DJs playing at private events, they made an impact on electronic music aficionados through their refined performances inspired by different genres including contemporary jazz, oriental percussions, and psychedelic rock. OD strives to create the perfect flow between acoustic & electronic sounds and take you on an emotive journey not bound by the constraints of time. With several shows under their belt, most recently in Cartagena/Colombia, Animal Nightclub Tulum/Mexico, AIM Festival Montreal, Front Republic festival, FRst Rave Back event and residencies at Clandestino and Nhau bar, they are making Opposite DireKtion a recognized name in the Montreal Night Life scene and electronic music industry. 
OD continues to explore different styles of sounds on each episode of their monthly podcast, “Shapes of Stories”. Stay tuned for more unique releases as they start creating their own productions in the coming months.
