combines elements of the Act 1 theme with the theme from
"Dusky Deposit," a mine-themed level that ended up being cut. The result
is quite funky! Written in collaboration with Scott Atkinson.

For so long I've been trying to figure out what I would say about this song when it finally came out. I have this image forever burned into my brain of walking out into a gas station parking lot on Prince Edward Island and seeing a friend running towards me, but in his wild way I had never seen anyone run before, like she could barely operate her body, and the moment she collided with me I knew we had lost someone back home. Our friend died really suddenly and horribly, which seems silly to say, cause when is death not horrible, but this one just ripped everything apart for everyone that knew her. I guess when people die there's this spectrum that ends with "well they lived a long full life and were ready to go" and on the other end, for me, it starts with her. All the good things that make it such a bad thing: so young, so full of life and wonder, such a joy to all her friends and family and truly anyone who happened to interact with her. I'll never get it, and I'm fucking pissed and just so sad about it still, but the thing I try to carry with me is this idea that I heard best summed up by Jason Anderson. At a show once he said that it doesn't make any sense who has to leave and who gets to stay, but that it's up to us to live twice as hard for the people that don't get to anymore. So that's what I'm trying to do, to bring that eagerness and patientness and consistency and strength to everyone I meet. This song is a promise to my friend, that I'm always gonna try, usually for myself, but in the bad times, when that runs out, for her.
