During Twilight (Yamaha DX7II)

All houses wherein men have lived and died
Are haunted houses. Through the open doors
The harmless phantoms on their errands glide,
With feet that make no sound upon the floors.

We meet them at the door-way, on the stair,
Along the passages they come and go,
Impalpable impressions on the air,
A sense of something moving to and fro.

There are more guests at table than the hosts
Invited; the illuminated hall
Is thronged with quiet, inoffensive ghosts,
As silent as the pictures on the wall.

The stranger at my fireside cannot see
The forms I see, nor hear the sounds I hear;
He but perceives what is; while unto me
All that has been is visible and clear.

We have no title-deeds to house or lands;
Owners and occupants of earlier dates
From graves forgotten stretch their dusty hands,
And hold in mortmain still their old estates.

The spirit-world around this world of sense
Floats like an atmosphere, and everywhere
Wafts through these earthly mists and vapours dense
A vital breath of more ethereal air.

Our little lives are kept in equipoise
By opposite attractions and desires;
The struggle of the instinct that enjoys,
And the more noble instinct that aspires.

These perturbations, this perpetual jar
Of earthly wants and aspirations high,
Come from the influence of an unseen star
An undiscovered planet in our sky.

And as the moon from some dark gate of cloud
Throws o’er the sea a floating bridge of light,
Across whose trembling planks our fancies crowd
Into the realm of mystery and night,—

So from the world of spirits there descends
A bridge of light, connecting it with this,
O’er whose unsteady floor, that sways and bends,
Wander our thoughts above the dark abyss.

travelling through the many worlds

why forsake the magic carpet?
why deny yourself the honest dream?
to fly, to dive the depths and know the highest peak
to walk through walls and conjure objects, people
do not slumber, do not fail
it is a brave soul who wanders the night’s terrain
who dares to break the bonds of physics
and if you venture forth
and when you’ve won your battle with fear
and when you’ve learned to make the dream
why then break the dream
arrive at the clear light of seeing
be a drop of the infinite
so when death comes
it will be no stranger

Lucid Dream Phase #7

It was dusk when we entered the cemetery. A stone path, faintly lit with lanterns, snaked under the towering hemlock and umbrella pine trees. We cautiously walked down it and plunged into the embrace of a sacred 1,200-year-old forest. Flickers of light bounced off ancient graves, shadows moved through the thick incense-scented woods and faces carved into stone eerily peered at us from the graveyard’s blackest corners. It felt like we were being watched. And perhaps we were.

Slow, rolling rhythms accompanied by drones and covered by a tick layer of atmosphere, like a caravan in mysterious and fantastically glacier-spiked hinterland realm. Very slow build-up! Good with most meditations.

Fatigue in my skin, in my bones, in my feet
Won’t keep me away from nocturnal retreat.
Once every eye is shut and heads are heavy with sleep,
Into deviant solitude I quietly creep.
By the force of the Moon and the darkness of the hour,
I am charged with a spark of introspective power.
I feel most alive when the Sun has gone to hide,
When the world is quiet and commotion subsides.
It is then when I am able to relax and unwind
In solitude, in darkness, in the depths of my mind.
