Raewyn Peart understands how to cause significant shift in environmental law and policy in a country. In 2019 she was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to environmental and conservation policy. Her most recent publication is a history of the Environmental Defence Society - a defender of NZs environment for 50+ years. Raewyn talks about a time when there wasn't much law and policy at all in NZ, how it can take 10 years to really change things and what keeps her optimistic about the future. I hope you can join us.

Wendy Preston danced through her childhood and around the world. She has been a dancer, choreographer, director, tutor, performer and director. She was a catalyst in beginning 3 of New Zealand's core centres for performing arts all of which have endured. She co-founded Mixit in 2005 and for nearly every week since, it has built the capacity of refugee and migrant youth through creativity and dance. In 2018 she was awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to performing arts and youth. Wendy talks about the role of creativity in shaping culture, building community and empowering youth.

The Loop Crew are a family on a housebus adventure actively using sustainability principles. They sold up everything and are spending 2 years travelling around NZ looking for good sustainability practices and products and helping with sustainability projects along the way. Their backyard changes all the time and they get absorbed into communities wherever they go. They are passionate about their purpose and are loving their journey so far.

Trevor Brljevich is the worlds best Calla Lily grower - he's supplied to Lady Diana and won a 'Dix Pennings Award' for best flower grower in the world. He has also volunteered for St Johns Ambulance for 63 years - helped set it up in his region and is still actively involved. He turned 87 
3 days after the interview. He talks about the love of growing things and the power of calm in a crisis, amongst other things.

Trevor Brljevich, world class flower grower, life-long ambulance volunteer, grandfather

Sheena Shuvani has been learning how to tell fortunes since she was a child. Part gypsy, part Irish; she comes from a long line of people with 'the sight'. She has travelled the world as a fortune teller and now works from a specially built booth in Ponsonby Central, Auckland. She talks about auras, palms, cards, cleaning a crystal ball in moonlight and what it is that people really want from her - quality energy and help with a path forward. Thanks to David Hodge of Light and Sound in Auckland for his help in muting some of the background noise to improve audibility.

Mike Lyon: Wood, Boats, Sea and Music

Interdisciplinary artist Ren Lunicke talks about being a genderqueer and the challenge of being non-binary in a binary culture (in Whangarei, Northland). In the recent plays 'Blood Relative' and 'Ze', things like categorization, isolation, connection and healing are explored with humour and honesty. 'Ze' is a wise play that has developed over many years and been shown in many places.
Ren is originally from Cascadia a bioregion in northwest America. We talk about the journey to living here, the balance between theatre and solace and the many different ways there are to belong and accept, amongst other things.
