Klartraum - Diving Dancer (Ian Pooley Remix)

It's early days yet, but things are going well for the London-based trio FACTORY FLOOR: Nik Colk (guitar/vocals/electronics), Gabe Gurnsey (drums/ electronics) and Dom Butler (electronics/vocals). And Optimo Music are in the unique position of doing a remix for Factory Floor and having a exclusive single release for it. 

“~ (R E A L  L O V E)” An Optimo (Espacio) Mix is already getting attention from James Holden, The Quietus, and it was only mastered about a fortnight ago. The Optimo (Espacio) mix was made at the behest of Factory Floor an was done by Optimo music head honcho JD Twitch alongside his sometime collaborator Dave Clark.

Stephen Morris, the drummer and rhythm king for music legends Joy Division & New Order produced the original version and continues to work with the band on remixes and new tracks. 

Both tracks will be released as a 12" single on 6th April 2011.

Rising Sun, DJ Fett Burger (as Fett Birger) and Tijana T grace the second remix package of Spencer Parker’s ‘Different Shapes and Sizes’ series on Work Them Records this February.

Following on from the first remix release, which featured DJ Deep, Akirahawks and Setaoc Mass, part two will see more reinterpretations of Spencer Parker’s 2017 series from an array of talented producers.

Rising Sun has earnt a cult following for curating labels such as Kristofferson Kristofferson, Styrax and Millions of Moments and here we see the accomplished producer deliver two hypnotic and classic sounding variations of ‘Riff Shapes’. Sex Tags and Freakout Cult co-founder DJ Fett Burger then provides an acidlaced mix of ‘Size:Yes’, as DJ Fett Birger. Finally, respected Belgrade techno DJ Tijana T closes the release with a robust and evolving rework of ‘A Different Size’.

The long-awaited follow-up to their evergreen ‘For The Lovers’ EP in 2017, once again they not only tick every box but tickle every inch of your music-addicted soul. Easing us in gently with a little cosmic UKG, ‘Gwei Lo’ is a two-step teaser with all the magic we’ve come to know and love Black Loops for. Deeper again we rifle through the styles like 12”s in a dusty crate… ‘Unity’ keeps the garage theme but with much more of New York or New Jersey style vibe, especially in those epically thudding kicks. ‘Keep A Secret’ is just beautiful deepness with shades of Europe and the West Coast. On the B-Side is ‘Clear’, born out of a sample clearance issue which inspired Theo Kottis to write an original piece of music that was ‘clear’ of samples. The end result is an exciting fusion of Italo disco and ‘80s synth-pop, complete with a euphoric vocal. 

Exclusive to the vinyl release, acclaimed Irish-born and now London-based producer Hubie Davison delivers a deeper and tougher reworking, which is perfect for peak-time dance-floors. In Hubie’s words: “There’s nothing better than being given a load of quality source material and license to have fun with it, and that’s exactly what happened here. I’ve been following Theo for a while now, so it was a joy to open the hood on ‘Clear’ and have a go at it. Having Gerd Janson on the other side makes it even better.
