Welcoming new artists to the Particles family is always a pleasure and with Zankee Gulati, Australia continues the tradition. Including remixes from Marcelo Paladini and Beat Maniacs, we now "Breathe".

Initially from the Tasmanian capital, Zankee Gulati's move to the cosmopolitan Sydney saw an immediate impact on the city's underground dance scene with his seamless transitions and "deepest progressive house", playing alongside Guy J, Pig and Dan and Robert Babicz. A nascent production career has been born out of Gulati's DJ performances with original work in the shape of "Airborne" and "Jupiter" for Clinique and Soundteller in 2017 and 2018. Now debuting on Particles, "Breathe" is founded upon a mule-like kick that acts as a metronome for a beautiful sequence of flowing melodies to rise and fall in reverberated glory. In perfect synchronicity with offbeat percussion, pads swell and pan across the left-right spectrum while a hypnotic bassline keeps all in check. Partner track, "Lush" immediately delights with its coruscating arpeggios that fit tightly against strong beat and house rhythm. Building elegantly, a synth line emerges in freeform fashion, juxtaposed against metronomic cadence and machine-based sequences. The result is a glorious multi-layered piece.

Based in the Argentine city of Mar del Plata on the Atlantic coast, Marcelo Paladini has been a regular around the clubs of his home country with appearances alongside Guy Mantzur, Marc Poppcke and Juan Deminicis. As a student of fellow countryman, Flymars, Paladini's production technique quickly bore fruit with a commercial debut in mid-2011, going on to see 250 production credits for the likes of Balkan Connection, Soundteller and Agara and regularly supported by Hernan Cattaneo. Making his Particles debut, the Marcelo Paladini remix of "Breathe" retains the same languid groove and melodic flow as the original, while a new rhythmic cadence and textured pads create depth. Additional production material and Paladini's skill have thus created a subtle variation of "Breathe" that holds true to Gulati's work.

The Beat Maniacs duo have been delighting audiences in their Belgrade hometown for over a decade. Inspired to enter the production arena after attending parties and seeing the effect the music they played had on club-goers, a debut came in mid-2010 with "Spiral" on Quebolarecords. Going on to feature heavily for the likes of Balkan Connection, Stellar Fountain and Lowbit, Beat Maniacs have also been regular contributors to Particles since an early debut in 2014. Since then, August 2016's twin-track "Gravitas" was a notable high point, while March 2018's "Prophet" EP also saw remixes from Hot TuneiK and SEQU3L included. Reworking "Lush" the aptly titled "Beat Maniacs in the Rain Remix" sees a laid-back electronica offering full of white-noise washes that bear the hallmark of traffic passing by on rain-soaked streets. A stripped back affair, new melodic passages create an entirely new feel while freeform guitar riffs post-breakdown add an organic dimension in a remix of ingenuity and innovation.

As Zankee Gulati starts to "Breathe" new music, Marcelo Paladini and Beat Maniacs create an intoxicating fragrance with their impressive remixes.

The latest release on Clubsonica Records welcomes Julian Nates to the label for his debut EP. As one of Argentina's most promising talents, the Cordoba resident lays claim to releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Antrim's Or Two Strangers and Soundteller Records, while also earning the praise from progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J. Now embarking on the biggest release of his career, Julian lands on Clubsonica with 'Wild Side' alongside remixes from Analog Jungs and Fabri Lopez.

Emotion and groove have always been at a premium in Julian's productions, and the title selection 'Wild Side' exemplifies that perfectly. On a bed of rippling bass tones comes buzzing electronics, growling stabs and perfectly manicured shakers. As momentum builds a tranquil arp advances the narrative into hypnotic territory, before effortlessly segueing into a musical interlude which seals its dance floor appeal. The companion piece 'Exchanging Souls' continues the smooth and seductive ethos of the EP with rolling grooves, lively rhythms and glowing atmospheres. Mysterious and mystical from the outset, the piece flows through bouncy arps and buoyant tones, before haunting overlays and wispy effects entice the final act with emotive moments.

The first interpretation of 'Wild Side' is provided by Analog Jungs who make their label debut. 2019 proved to be a breakout year for the Cordoba duo, landing releases on Nick Warren's two prestigious imprints The Soundgarden and Hope Recordings. Also, a favourite of world class DJs John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo, Analog Jungs now follow their well received 'Liria' EP with a stunning interpretation of 'Wild Side'. Full and driving, the groove commands a large presence as percussive flurries and arpeggiated fragments adorn the framework. Evolving with a veteran's savvy, timely modulation provides waves of euphoric tension while bulbous tones and lively percussion add momentum. Haunting harmonics highlight the main break, delivering impassioned moments, before a rush of beats and drums unite for a powerful drop.

The second and final interpretation of 'Wild Side' is provided by Fabri Lopez who returns to the label for his second appearance. The Argentinean artist first appeared on the Colombian imprint in June of 2019 with a remix of Russlan Jaafreh's 'Hanguk'. In a year that saw play and support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Villa Mercedes resident now gets 2020 underway with a superb take on 'Wild Side'. Taking a cue from the original Fabri crafts a full groove and smooth rhythmic core. Nostalgic in nature, the piece flows through emotive chord changes and sparkling electronics, before shifting energy into a transcendent break. Delicate yet buzzing, the centrepiece expertly melts down into a dramatic build as rugged synths and a wave of noise spark a character filled finale. An inspired remix from Fabri which rounds out a stunning Clubsonica debut for Julian Nates, an artist who continues to operate at a creative peak.

Ezequiel Arias returns to the label with his signature smooth style.

Arias has packed a lot into his years. Since breaking onto the scene in 2013 he’s now signed music to a cross section of melodic labels from Replug to Anjunadeep. Enjoying months of chart action with his debut for Sudbeat, we welcome Ezequiel back for the ‘Amnesia EP’.

Opening with ‘Amnesia’, melodics slowly reveal themselves against a sparse percussive groove. Becoming more expansive over time, the sonics take on a story-telling dynamic, ebbing and flowing throughout. Starting innocently, ‘Images of Time’ is a subtle groove that lingers with intent. The main break offers the big reveal and the track springs into life. Finally, ‘Paradies’ opens with dream-like atmospheres which come to an epic conclusion in the break. Mind music par excellence!
