A regular contributor to the finest dance music imprints of the underground scene, Simos Tagias makes a welcome debut on Meanwhile with his 'Euphoria' EP.

Bursting onto the scene in late 2012 and early 2013 with a clutch of releases on Modu and Lynx Records, Simos Tagias has overseen a career path with a steady upwards trajectory that has since seen some 400 production credits to his name. Indeed, Clubsonica Records, Mango Alley and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music have all played regular host to the Greek artist’s work, not to mention successful releases on Cid Inc.’s Replug and Aly & Fila’s hugely successful FSOE.

Now opening his account on GMJ & Matter’s ever-growing Meanwhile, 'Euphoria' immediately impresses as a collage of elements fly across the sonic spectrum while a clicking ambient effect and grooved percussion provide dance floor character. Building in effervescent fashion, reversed synth motifs vie with delicately delayed phrases as a plethora of spot effects swim enticingly around the listener’s head. Winding up after a dizzying breakdown, the third movement carefully combines all the elements introduced in the earlier stages through a mind-melting melange of frequencies that pitches and falls in an innovative wall of sound Phil Spector would be proud of.

'Emotion' is a high-octane offering powering forward with chest-thumping kick and immaculately syncopated percussive groove. White noise infused synth motifs soon fill the sonic spectrum as a rapid-fire 16th note bassline carries the melodic elements with ease. Full of emotion and beautifully flowing synth lines, the track reaches its musical zenith at the breakdown before hitting its stride in the second half where all elements converge in lay lines of raw power and emotion.

We are proud to officially announce our first compilation: “Atmospheria: Volume One”, a series of three ambient and melodic originals reworked into three deep and progressive house tracks.

The first of the three originals come from Dallas-based artist nogfgoodnight (Anish Banavar). Being a former trance artist under the alias Dove Project, Banavar has been supported by many legendary DJs such as Paul van Dyk. His track “A Love That Never Happened” tells the tale about a love that slipped away and utilizes 
filtered catchy melodies coupled with an emotional top melody. On the compilation, this track has a remix by Vancouver based artist Rylan Taggart. Releasing on labels such as Ton Topferei and This Never Happened, Taggart has been featured in Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy radio show with his very own guest mix and has been supported by some of the biggest DJs in the world including Joris Voorn.

The second of the three originals comes from a new producer based out of St. Petersburg, Russia, space between me & you (Alexey Starshinov). His track “I Thought You Were There” focuses on 
atmospheric sound design with spacey melodies. On the compilation, the track has a remix by Cyprus-based duo, Paul Angelo & Don Argento. Releasing on labels such as Movement Recordings 
and 3rd Avenue, the duo has brought their signature sound to their remix empowering it into an amazing club tune.

The third and final original comes from another new producer based out of Ohio, Tydrous (Nick Bordo). His track “Winter Fields” is the most cinematic original in the compilation, employing delicate pianos and heartwarming strings. On the compilation, this track has a remix by Dutch producer Deeparture (Dominique Vijverberg). Being one of the biggest artists in the melodic deep house community, Deeparture has been supported by Lane 8, Nora En Pure, Above & Beyond, Hernan Cattaneo, and Jody Wisternoff. Deeparture brings his signature style sound to this remix and delivers with his iconic punchy percussions and catchy melodies.

'Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Stiven Rivic and Michael and Levan back to the label for a new EP entitled 'Rumors'. The much loved trio have been a core part of the Greek imprint since making their debut in 2012 with a contribution to the label's 'Technical Progress' Vol. 2 collection. Michael, Levan and Stiven have since gone to appear an additional ten times while also finding a home on Beatfreak, Flow Vinyl, ICONYC, Perfecto and their own Kunai imprint. Now landing back on Movement for the first time in almost three years the trio present a new two track EP alongside remixes from EdOne and Paul Angelo and Don Argento. 

Beginning with the title track 'Rumors' Stiven, Michael and Levan move into deeper territory with a warm spacious groove, smooth rhythms and clusters of dreamy tones. It's both alluring and mysterious with a flair for the dramatic, particularly across an expansive first act, as layers of percussion build and bulbous stabs steal the air. An electric lead flows nicely into a short interlude, resetting the groove for a more unique cadence, while the main break elevates the narrative into astral territory. The companion piece 'Incognito' finds the trio exploring the hypnotic sensibilities they've become so loved for. It's rolling groove is perfectly carved, adorned with plucky hooks, fiery percussion and meditative arps. Smooth and dubby across the first act, it eventually opens up into an astral storyboard as a wave of sonic artefacts segues perfectly into a groovy finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Rumors' is provided by EdOne who makes his label debut. The Spanish artist lays claim to an impressive discography highlighted by releases on Beatfreak, Stil Vor Talent,  Selador and Suara. Now making his much anticipated Movement Recordings debut, the Cadiz resident puts a unique twist on 'Rumors'. Setting the piece in motion is a bed of broken beats and rippling bass tones. Airy pads elevate mood as layers of exotic percussion flow through the framework. Poignant tones and percussive flurries continue to bend the narrative, adding emotion and tension, before the main break and impactful drop shift energy into euphoria's top floor. 

The release concludes with label artists Paul Angelo and Don Argento returning for their fifth appearance. 2019 has seen the Cyprus based duo compile the second volume of the Greek imprint's 'GLBLMVMT' series while also delivering their first EP 'Hephaestus'. Now fresh off releases for Soundteller Records and Yin:Yang, Paul and Don return to Movement with a stunning interpretation of 'Incognito'. Anchored by a driving groove, the Cyprus duo's rhythmic drum work and fluid electronics build a strong cadence. Acidic designs add a flair for the dramatic, while percussive splashes and esoteric tones perfectly segue into the main break. Spanning nearly a minute in length, the interlude is one of introspection, backed by a solemn air and laced with buzzing designs, it effortlessly shifts energy into a pulsating finale. Another inspired remix from Paul and Don which caps off another excellent offering from Tash's Movement Recordings. Don't miss it.'
