This is off the long awaited, overdue Oral Sketchis EP. Just completed last night. I was thinking of holding it til the other songs were done with their mixing & editing process but, my partner, Decompose, oops! I mean Black Ink. GRIN! Was like, "Why not put it out now? It's a short & perfect song to start off the project. Make'em hungry for more." Thanks again, bruh. For the beat, your cooperation, your brotherhood. Shout-out to Saafir in West Oakland. Hope his interview piece does the song justice. When recording this song, I was like, "I want some dialogue (off a movie or speech)to help compliment this." So, when I heard the Saafir cd, "Good Game", I was blown away about the interview tracks. Plus, Shout-out to KRS-ONE & the BDP crew. That was scratched at the end of my verse. (for those who are not familiar to good Hip-Hop music). Well, hope you enjoy the track & are looking forward to hearing more off the EP. Still soon come. Entitled

This is the single track to the EP. "So Old School" was record over the Summer of "2012". Due to scheduling and technical difficulties it took so long to complete it. But, finally it's done. PHEW!... The beat was produced, cut, & mixed by Black Ink, once again. Concept is just me reminiscing of events of Hip-Hop culture in my days. Shout-out to the artists, whose elements we used to contribute in the record. Big ups to Naughty By Nature, D.J. Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Chi-Ali, A Tribe Called Quest, and Jay-Z. I wanted to have more elements put in to support the rhymes like X-Clan, The Roots, and De La Soul but, were unable to fit. As for the sample pieces, I hope they do justice in the song. The hook I wrote way before I wrote the rhymes. The hook goes, "Let's take it back to the days of the hightop fades and half-moon waves, what'cha say, young? How about when Hip-Hop collab with House, bass, and Jazz, c'mon and give the drummer some. When Afrocentrisity was the thing to be, Revolutionary. Let your brain go, rockin' Kangol, shell toe Adidas with the fat lace strings checkerboard like raw."... Much love to Hip-Hop culture, old school and new school. Take a trip with me, y'all....

So Old School

The history of this record is like this. The song was originally conceived in 98'. It was actually a collabo with Pun One of 3LG (DC based live band back in the days) and Avalanche Sound. To refresh your memory, he produced the Noyeek "Da Grizzley Bear's, "Hands In The Air" from off his debut cd "Face Crunch". In the process of making the beat, Pun One, changed his mind on rhyming on the track and gave it to me. I never rewrote my verse. I kept that & the hook the same. Over the years, I had certain emcees in mind to do the song with like Dimensions of The Package and yU of Diamond District to name a few. But, When buildin' on the phone with Ardamus, he was down to collab. Shout-out to Ardamus and the rest of F.A.R. Exp. Go check them out. Thanks bruh for taking time out your busy schedule to do this. Looking forward to doing "Rock On" with you & RNL. GRIN! Anyway, the song itself kinda I was trying to give that Organized Konfusion feel to it. So, it was only right to have Prince Po scratched on it along with Fat Albert. And to soundbyte Unkle before Ardamus verse was dope... As far as credits, Pun One produced the track, featured Ardamus, and it was recorded at, cut, and mixed by Black Ink.  So, there u have it, "Politics of Self". Another single off the EP. Politics Of Self Ft. Ardamus

This is a leak on behave of Pro Ink (Prochi and Black Ink). A taste tester for the people who have been waiting to hear something from Pro Ink. The album is still in the works (in recording mode) but, will soon come. Now, I like to present to you the first installment, "Tic Toc". Enjoy.

02 Tic Toc (Rough Draft)

This track was recorded a years ago. I think in 2013. The beat is a Black Ink (was Decompose when he made it thou) production. It takes me back to that D.I.T.C. sound (as far as production wise) but, that old school Kane, Rakim, and G Rap fast track (rhyming' wise).  Speakin' of Kane, it made me think of the title "Rhymin' wit Biz". So, to make it cool, I would call on my trusty Rough Draft mate, Grizz of The Package/A.R.K./The Infinite Loop crew. We've shared features on each other's joints. I wrote the hook and a verse for his "Adversary" and he spit the hook for my song "U-Turns". Anyway, together we bring "Rhymin' Wit Grizz" to life. Shout-out to my brotha, Grassmaster. We recorded it at his Lions Den Studio. As I recorded a couple of joints on his Protools. "Thanks, bruh. Push Thru is next to upload." This goes out with homage to the late 80's, fast track fans. Enjoy. iiight, chill….  

Rhymin' Wit Grizz ft. Noyeek "Da Grizzly Bear"

Valentines is a song of homage. I just wanted to express my thankfulness. You in Life, GOD throws a lot of test, obstacles, & situations in our mix. These time REALLY define & make us who we are today. Especially, the bad & troubling times. Decompose did the beat. It was one from his Government Cheese beat cd. It took me awhile to think of what to talk about on it. I know I just wanted it to be heartfelt. I analyzed it 4 like 2 weeks. Hearing the track, It would make me think of the making of Ryan & how never regret ANYTHING in my life cause that's what made me the man I am today. & with the beginning part, "We would like to do a very serious song. & would like to dedicate it to somebody special." The 1st verse was to my LORD & Savior for dying for me & sins. & still blessing me, even though at time I may not always make the right decisions. The 2nd verse was reflected upon my parents & the parallels of their & my marriage, & also my family. & the 3rd verse was towards my ex-wife. After writing the rhymes & reciting them over the beat (to myself), I had that same feeling I had when I did Castin' Brimstones. It had soul to it. Before actually recording it, I had a performance to do & was think of doing it over Jay'Z's "Song Cry" but, decided not to. Although, the rhymes fit perfectly over that too... The most heartfelt part of this song was the end of my last verse. During & after my divorce, There were two cds I listen to HARD & they got me over my depression. It was "Here, My Dear" by Marvin Gaye & "The Healing: Daily Dosage" by Urban Ave 31 (Mr. HU & Raheem DeVaughn). Particularly, the song "Ok 2 B U". Thanks broth as for not just a great song but, helping me get back to my life. As Omar Retnuh would say, "Need a healing." That's why I said, "If it wasn't for the Healing or Here, My Dear./ I would have never overcame the fear to spit this cheer.".....   

01 Valentines

This song is really a Noyeek Da Grizzley Bear song. The original version was w/ Golden Lion, Ansarallah, & Griz rhyming' and myself on the hook. I later wrote my verse when Ansarallah was M.I.A. and Griz wanted to be able to perform the joint in his shows. I wrote my verse a lil after the 9/11 tragedy. When I recorded my vocals @ Theory's crib, I hit it on the money. 1 of my proudest moments coin' my thang. (GRIN!) Anyway, we NEVER did perform the song live. I did by myself thou, when I had a show w/ Heron Gibran @ what use to be Bar Nun. I think it's called Pur now. I recited the whole song. wasn't bad but, wish Griz was able to make the gig to do it together. Well, maybe in the future. When I learn my garageband more I'mma try to remix it and had all 4 verses (Golden Lion, Ansarallah, myself, & Griz) together. Hope y'all enjoy this version thou.   

01 Adversary Pt. 2

This is my first beat I made on the MPC 2000. Decompose was teaching me how to operate the sampler. This joint is for all my b-boys. I think I made it last year in August. Hope y'all like it. 

02 Magic1 (Instrumental)

Remember back in the 90's. When artists were coming out w/ albums, street promoters would pass-out snippet tapes or cds? GRIN! Well, I want to give y'all a teaser of what's to come from Oral Sketchis. It's just a rough edit of a verse to 1 song. Nuthin big. Just sharing a piece with ya. Especially since the Summer I've been tell y'all of Facebook & twitter, "Oral Sketchis material soon come." GRIN! After the songs r total complete (passed it's editing & mix down process) I'll upload a snippet w/ ALL songs of the EP. For now, this is it. Hope y'all liked my production debut, "Magic1".
