Musician since childhood, producer and DJ originally from Lutsk, Ukraine, co-founder of the label and audiovisual project PENUMBRUM, based in Warsaw, and specializes in an intelligent approach to the nightlife of the capital, which focuses on the synergy of sound and image, as well as popularizing such areas of electronic music as ambient, trance, downtempo and psychedelic, chillout. Strongly inspired by the 90's, she collects all what hails from that era, and much more beyond that - focusing on trippy and groovy sounds, merges trance and dubby atmospheres with hypnotizing acid landscapes. Preparing each set in a special way, she is always tuned to exchange energy and immerse the listener in the story, leaving no one indifferent.

Music producer, DJ, technician, and overall renaissance LDY, Alyssa Barrera Auvinen’s artist name was born from her love of all things synth. An early liking to music brought her to the dancefloors of Mexico, where she began DJing as an adolescent before going on to study music and sound engineering in New York City. In her music production, Alyssa plays with different instruments and unexpected vocal styles to bring her dark fantasies to life. She recently contributed a track to the new Prague-based label LTE (and the new home for our mix series) with the wind-tunnel, electro-infused ‘Suave Duro’. She spoke with Jonas about racial bias in the media, DJing dangerous parties as a teenager in Mexico, sound therapy, the music scene in Vienna, and exploring the worlds of codes, electronics, frequencies, and oscillators.

Mayss did not have much to say and I’m still redacting my graduation ceremony speech that took place two weeks ago thus I’ll keep it short. Mayss has a big heart and I like crossing her in the streets cuz she radiates hope despite we both living in a city where dreams come to die lol. So if in 2022 Mayss still finds love and inspiration in the art then i'll act accordingly and continue to find  love and inspiration in the arts. Other than that it is a pretty dope mix; listened  to it on repeat while re-potting the tomatoes in the garden; I do hope  they felt the cosmic frequencies of the mix while I handled them and they’ll thrive and become stallion tomatoes cuz I already invited her over to taste the harvest in 8-to-10 weeks. Today it’s also summer solstice and indigenous day so tune-in to the mix an honour ur place in the universe I’d say.

For Signals 022 we welcome London based DJ, recording artist, Draconian Steps Label Head and all out Electro heavyweight, Chupacabras. 

Chupacabras is a recording artist originally from San Antonio, Texas. Although he's been involved in electronic music for many years, he's released only a handful of tracks. All of which are on some pretty serious imprints including Aperitif de la Mort, L.I.E.S, Marguerite, Zement & more. 

He has a forthcoming mini LP this year on the ever reliable Lifeforms as well as tracks for compilations on Italo Moderni and Sons of Traders, as well as Chris Mitchell’s Feral Colony. 

Chupacabras is also part of a duo called Circus of Death along side L.I.E.S label head Ron Morelli. As well as this, he also has 2 solo projects - Acid Freq and 110. 

Between all his different aliases, Chupacabras' signature sound lies somewhere between distorted, rough around the edges Electro, hard hitting acid and banging Techno. A sound which is reflected in this excellent hour.
