I’ve always been passionated by the evolutions and cross-influences in musical genres, and lately my attention was caught by freestyle 💃🏽🕺🏽

Born in the Latino communities of NY, this genre was mixing synthetic instrumentations as heard in mainstream synth-pop with latin percussions and syncopated rhythms, and eventually boomed in the late 80s, on American airwaves and in NY or Miami clubs 🗽🏖️👙

Our freestyle edits oscillate between latin house-not-house club anthems and balearic head-bobbing tunes - as Gloria Estefan once sang, « Come on, shake your body baby do the conga, I know you can't control yourself any longer » 🥁🎺

Studio Pandora is a free-to-visit hybrid between an off- and online stage in TivoliVredenburg. In the former smoking area on the sixth floor podcasts about music are developed, DJs are given free reign and a stage is created for conversations about culture and/or Utrecht. Studio Pandora was created thanks to the experiences of TivoliVredenburg in recent times. A souvenir of the COVID era, which artist Dewy Elsinga has turned into a colourful and warm headquarter, by which we’d like to offer a kickstart to starting, experimenting and often local creatives.

As Eternal Love, cheeky chappies Fede and Edo are injecting that bit of extra joy into their output that we're all in need of. 

The Milanese duo's digging endeavours aren't confined to one sound or style, you'll find them scouring dusty crates for everything from lovers rock and jazz to Italian dream house and rock music. If they had to put a label on what they play though, they'd term it as SOUL music in all its different shapes and forms.

They've been gathering a healthy following across Europe and beyond through their tasteful sets and lighthearted approach, this year they've hit the UK, Belgium, Spain and South America, to name a few, but up next you'll find them closer to home at Polifonic Festival. The Polifonic link extends to curation too, the guys are also involved with an upcoming VA release, put together with the help of Yu Su, Lipelis and Benedek... Keep your eyes peeled for that. 

On the topic of releases, while Fede and Edo may have spent a lot of time digging and selecting, more recently they've been putting time into production. This August will see the release of their debut EP via firm favourites Planet Trip - trust us this one is a perfect soundtrack for summer.

Now, the pair tell us they tend to opt for the more "home listening" side of their collections when it comes to mixes and radio shows, but on this occasion they're going against the grain with a mix of the kind pop sounds you can expect to hear them playing this summer.

Made up of Balearic, disco, house and all that good stuff to make you move, their 'Shine A Light On' mix is soulful, sun-soaked and best accompanied, as the boys tell us, with a nice glass of cold white wine. Crack open a nice bottle and get stuck in...
