It was almost the end of  1997 and things were a bit nasty with my band mates. Nasty in the sense of drugs and abuse, but still trying to make honest music and keep up at least three rehearsals a week with a band we had called Bombalacran. After realising things were not going in the right way sort to speak, a few of my friends decided to clean-up, and by the beginning of '98 Guguillo and me started playing again, but this time with our mate Tomas. 

The three of us started making some instrumental music at a farm in a place called  Nemocón, 50 Kilometres from Bogotá. It's a semi-desert  area which inspired us maybe to make music with that feel - quite spacey, arid and in no rush, only a rush inspired from being clean and re-discovering our selves as friends and maybe human beings. 

After a couple of months there Guguillo decided to travel to Seattle to meet our previous singer from Danny Dodge, Isolde; he tried to convince us to go there with them and try things out with the band  there. I went first so I decided to work there for a few months to by new instruments. The whole idea went down hill when they denied the visa to Tomas to go into the US, so we decided to come back to Bogotá and continue with our project there. 

For a few months we wrote more songs, but still instrumental. We were so submerged that we didn't really know how the songs were coming along, but we knew we were really happy with the sound and every day the three of us looked forward for rehearsals. 

As usual, how it happens in most bands, we thought we had to lay down the songs and record an album. We decided to call Isolde and ask her to fly to Bogotá and sing on the songs, a few months later she arrived and we got right into business and started writing lyrics and recording almost immediately after.  For two months we hired recording equipment and recorded all the songs we had on a couple of A-Dats. After we finished we started planning a gig in the same place we recorded, which was my family's house in the centre of Bogotá, ideal to make noise and not bother anyone. So we did a pre-launching gig for the first time just for friends to warm up. It went really well, we knew those songs by heart, everyone there seemed to be affected in a good way.  

After the gig, we left everything as we usually did. A couple of days later we went to pick everything up and BANG!! It was all stolen! … Not the nicest of feelings … police came, the whole thing … we got really down. 

Fortunately somehow the tapes survived the robbery, so we decided to just go ahead and mix the songs, so we hired and engineers and we tried to be there as best as we could during the mix considering the recent events. The resulting mix wasn't what we were expecting really, but here are a few songs that for us will endure in time.
