sounds of London based label Tone Dropout run by Steve McSweeney - “Sween” & Darren Woollard - “Dawl” both very well established DJs.

For the next 2 hours Dawl & Sween will be playing everything from bleeps n’ breaks, B-boy electro to acidic techno.

Tone Dropout Records was established in 2013 and since then its ever-growing catalogue from a wide array of artists have been regularly selling out.

OA appreciates how much these guys express their love for the sounds of old school electro & techno through their releases and the passion for graffiti via their artwork sleeves. In the world of Tone Dropout, the rave never ends; it’s this wholehearted 90’s inspired retro-futurism that makes their releases such a good listen.

Previously working from his wooden shack in the middle of the French Riviera, Legri decided to move to Paris, planning to develop his skills in one of the hottest European scenes for electronic music. His musical inspirations come from 90's Funk, Hip-Hop, and House, which he listens to with his father in the back of the family bakery. His love for groovy samples, melodic sounds, and deep bass make his sets as danceable as they are eclectic.

SG is made up of J.Dennis (Greg Palmer) & Svetnik (Svetoslav Stoyanov), both skilful and dedicated producers, record collectors, label owners, and cherished friends. (look out for their ‘Between Fields’ imprint, which has already had a super release by the duo, and a label compilation lined up for this year). 

Their mix is a refreshing interpretation on the Spectral Voices series and a true testament to their boundless take on deep, broken, dubby and atmospheric sounds. It follows a meticulous and coherent path that seamlessly drifts between multiple planes of energy, driven by low slung, whacked out beat patterns and deep low ends, whilst welded together with ethereal overtones and moments of otherworldly atmosphere. One can hear nostalgic whispers from an endless pool of inspirations that range through ambient, hip hop, garage, dub, jazz, house, idm, uk bass and more, which bolster the unique character of this journey and keep the mix interesting throughout.

His first contact with electronic music was with retro video games, which unconsciously inspired him for the years to come. Like the soundtracks he listened too, he was tought to tell a story. You hear this through mixing and his productions, which delve straight into the 90s with an assortment of jumpy rhythms and story driving sounds.

From the get go you are launched into a realm of nostalgia with a classic Zelda sample which sets the tone for the next hour.

Prepare yourself for a seriously killer selection from Andy, with plenty of deep cuts to get us excited for the warmer months.
