We’re back with the second release on our label and this time it’s a small snapshot of the Finnish scene: a collection of fast, psychedelic techno from Helsinki artist HOMI (@kiuas) with a slow-burning remix from VC-118A (@mohlao).

Recorded at his studio space in Helsinki, HOMI’s Välitila EP begins with three tracks of percussive, acid-tinged techno, primed for peak time. The B-side features a remix of the title track Välitila from Dutch-born and now Finland-based VC-118A, delivering a winding, slow-burning counterweight to Homi’s dancefloor-oriented original. The digital edition includes a bonus fifth track of quirky breakbeat techno from HOMI titled SmallBisnes.

There’s left-field club gear from the inimitable Polygonia, a dubby roller from Nicole and glitchy, downtempo electronics from Mown. Completing the EP is alow-slung house cut from Ukrainian duo Na Nich & Vera Logdanidi and an eerie drone piece from label founder Laura BCR.

These were the stories that he told himself, tall tales from long ago which had got lost in the spaces in between. It had been a while since he’d last let himself think about such history and nostalgia for it was buried deep in the recesses of his mind. His memory palace was a place visited once in a blue moon for the magic which lived behind those thick castle walls was sometimes best to be left alone.

Lying amidst the tall grass he watched as the clouds moved slowly by overhead, he’d allowed himself this one afternoon to daydream upon what might of been in another life. He opened the heavy gates and let his memories of a wilder, better time come rushing in.

He closed his eyes and nodded off…

Priori continues to develop and grow as a producer, moving toward deep, pensive textures and atmospheres on a new EP for Midgar Records. The Pareidolia EP is comprised of four tracks of intelligent Techno which teases and intrigues – this is a record which will sound good on dark nights and in smokey rooms.

BLNDR's latest track, '1080°', is an outstanding showcase of the producer's technical prowess and creative vision. The fast-paced percussions, metallic hi-hats, and breakbeat kick drum create a sense of urgency and energy that propels the track forward. However, what sets '1080°' apart is the delicate balance it strikes between these intense elements and more subtle, warm pads and lush vocals that add depth and texture to the track. The result is a captivating listening experience that is both engaging and emotionally resonant.

'1080°' would be a perfect fit for a sunrise set in the forest. The track's dynamic and intricate soundscapes capture the sense of renewal and possibility that comes with a new day. The blend of high-energy and gentler elements creates a sense of tension and release that would be perfectly suited to a setting where nature and technology converge. 

'1080°' is part of the upcoming release Noritian Hands, a collection of tracks from exciting artists like Toki Fuko, Jozef Gaard, and Mown on the Brussels-based record label NORITE. The vinyl and digital release are due on May 17.

PREMIERE: BLNDR - 1080° [NORITE]

Lyon-based producer Sindh takes listeners on a ravishing sonic voyage with his track 'Qalat,' featured in the upcoming 'Mers' compilation from the French record label and community RDG Tribe. This mesmerizing composition showcases Sidnh's masterful ability to craft a hypnotic half-step journey that effortlessly immerses the listener into a realm of pulsating rhythms and enigmatic atmospheres.

At the core of 'Qalat' lies a low-slung kick drum, providing a solid foundation for the track's momentum. Accompanying this foundation is a meticulously crafted percussive sequence that drives the rhythm forward with its intricate patterns and rhythmic complexity. Sindh skillfully weaves layers of percussive elements, creating a rich and textured sonic tapestry that is as captivating as infectious.

A high-pitched synth sequence gracefully floating in the background adds an air of mystery and intrigue to the composition. This ethereal melody serves as a mesmerizing counterpoint to the rhythmic elements, casting a spell of curiosity and fascination over the listener. 'Mers' compilation, featuring Sindh's entrancing track 'Qalat,' is scheduled for release on May 26, offering a diverse selection of cutting-edge electronic music by some of the usual suspects here at Delayed, like Estrato Aurora, Owl, Javier Marimon, Simone Bauer, Octo Aeterna and Artos Eleven just to name a few.

Four new deep, rhythmic works from Lyon producer Vardae inaugurate new London imprint OODA, co-curated by Forest Drive West and localhost.  The Kaipos EP drifts from ritualistic half tempo drums into deep warping techno and tripped out drones, illustrating Vardae’s unique genre-breaking approach to crafting powerful percussive entrancers for headphones and dancefloor.

A fitting prelude to the OODA project, conceived to explore polyrhythmic techno, bass and ambient experiments in all forms.
