Solid Steel in association with Serato (2nd October) Bristol producer Decka has just released his new Begyndelsen EP via new Berlin label SPE:C, and has already been garnering attention from FACT, Boiler Room, and Mixmag, as well as featuring in the sets of Randomer, Matrixxman and Objekt. he told us;
"I recorded this mix at my home studio in Bristol. It contains mostly new tracks that I've really been feeling, intertwined with some new bits from myself and a bunch of unreleased tracks from new producers. Enjoy!"

The idea behind this EP is essentially to explore a distortion of our perception of time. To achieve this, the tracks unfold in a specific order, playing with different tempos and rhythmic forms.

This work draws inspiration from various concepts related to time and its impact on human consciousness, such as the decisions we make, why we make them, how they affect our future, the existence of destiny, and each individual's personal beliefs. These themes resonate throughout the album.

The tracks develop around diverse concepts such as the pursuit of knowledge, destiny, self-awareness, life's path, and humanity's capacity to consciously shape the future.
The sound design aims for a sound that could be described as being somewhere between tribal and futuristic, between the mystical and the tangible.

Ladislav Zensor revives his moniker, Exhausted Modern, on a new EP. While maintaining his traditionally contemplative and dark sound, he enriches it with new elements he has explored in recent years through his second project, Oblaka. This pushes his work into a gray zone, though it fundamentally draws from classic dance music genres and techniques/elements that have a certain retro charm but also inherent limitations. Across the five tracks, he navigates between broken beats and electro, all wrapped in a contemporary layer.

Alex Caballero, also known as Doctrina Natura (Seville, Spain), is known for his organic, nature-inspired sound, and this remix follows that style closely. It exists alongside my original track, like two versions in different universes with the same purpose.

In his version, the focus is on punchy, tight drums that give a 90s feel. The track starts dark and moody, then gradually builds into a more intense and powerful climax, keeping its natural and immersive vibe throughout.

This is the second time Alex has remixed one of my tracks. The first collaboration dates back to 2019 on Edgar’s Nferee. While my own sound has changed significantly since then, Alex has remained true to his distinctive style, steadily raising the quality of his work.

The fifth record on NEW YORK TRAX is by Lot.te, the Turkish-born, Brooklyn-based DJ, producer and designer affiliated with The Bunker NY by virtue of two well-received vinyl releases. This politically charged record is Lot.te’s personal reflection on the current social and political climate in Turkey. With rhythmic synths tactilely brought to the foreground, Lot.te committed a masterpiece that only a skilled and thoughtful artist like himself can commit. The opening ‘Ultra Vires’ is a relentless synth-driven and warehouse-styled track mercilessly rolling at the speed of 140BPM. The deeper Ausnahmezustand follows; it is a reflective and rhythmical piece good for both home listening and the dance floor. 15.07.2016 opens the B side with its tense yet playful atmosphere and numerous constantly evolving layers of sound. Finally, Graft is a shockingly intense introspective piece. Made with the use of Japanese Taiko drums, it is a lesson in perfect sound design. VINYL ONLY!
