'Myths of East' is the debut EP by Vuta, producer from Belarus. Different cultures, orientalism and ethnic flavors inspire him to develop his own sound. The three tracks that make up the release blend sampled vocals, organic rhythms and mysterious melodies with references to sounds from the Middle East, Africa and Asia. His music transports us to exotic scenarios of vibrant energy, making it great for smoky dance floors.

Vivod label boss Ali Renault serves up this rather moody ep in memory of his late friend, Pete Mangalore of Human Shield fame. The five tracker kicks off with Northdown Acid, a brooding sprawl with elements of Italo and acid combined to beautiful effect. The amusingly titled Imminent Salad follows with its jacking strut groove, laden with lush pads. Peter Summoning breaks up the ep with its simple ambient suggestion. On the flip things get going again with slo mo stomper Forbidden Mind before title track Nawce Blizzard closes with it’s electro style hypnosis. Finally we’re left with an infinite cat purring locked groove to send you to sleep. Great ep from start to finish. All copies come with a free Peter plectrum and vivod sticker. The rise of the "balearica movement" in the last years has been well supported by dj's and producers from Switzerland, being Zurich one of the most influent cities of the scene, contributing artists like Lexx or Kejeblos and labels like "Phantom Island" that lately have been inside the radar more than ever.

Besides of his brilliant work as "mixer" for different labels, Florin Büchel has been building a great reputation under his both monikers. "CCO", where the Swiss' producer explores darker sounds like acid or elektro; and under his own name where he dares with more sunny and hedonist productions.

Florin Büchel lands in MM Discos with "Serendipity EP" a work that follows the style of his productions signed on "Phamtom Island". Always loyal to his love for analogue machines, Zurich' based producer delivers a heavenly landscape, built beat after beat with a charming laid back style, cheerful melodies and playful percussions.

Romain FX takes over the control on "Serendipity" and brings the track to his own territory, delivering an effective "80's-italo-styled" version of the original made by Florin Büchel.

Closing the EP, MM Discos' in-house producers Bonnie & Klein, take back the mediterranean vibe and the sunglasses to remind us that the summer hasn't finished yet.

Born in France, established in Switzerland, and now, via a detour in Montreal, Maxime Laffon lands on Culprit with his debut for the Los Angeles label. On the “Escapade” EP the classic meets contemporary, as Laffon taps into the legacy of legendary dance music he grew up with and the recent experience as the resident for the famed D Club in Lausanne, where he affiliated with none other than Luciano and the Vagabundos crew.
 
“Escapade” and “Everybody” are two slabs of crackling Electronic House, percolating with dancefloor energy and bouncy mischief.  “Escapade” is the lighter, more melodic of the pair, while “Everybody” sports the chunky groove and the catchy vocal hook.

The remix arrives courtesy Tiefschwarz – long friends of the label who are finally lassoed into a contribution. And what a contribution it is! With Ali Schwarz at the helm, this rework adds the gorgeous late night Deep Techno sheen to “Everybody.”

Azole project hides 2 new and exciting fellas from Moscow. And their offering feels more like a complete album than just a regular EP.
Mr. Sutherland EP is an allusion to a famous Australian keyboard virtuoso with the same surname and even though keyboard solos might not be that lavish and jazzy when compared to their counterpart, they are definitely there and will take you for a dreamy ride in outer space.
Most of the track names in the album are organic and refer to the living world, so we hope that while listening to these compositions you will feel how intricately everything is interlinked not only here on planet Earth, but also in all vastness of the universe. Enjoy the trip!

Letters written in lightning

Number five of Funnuvojere’s catalogue comes directly from the depth of the Bari (Italy) province. It is written and produced by Francesco Strippoli aka Armonics and follows his first mini LP on Slow Motion Records, Nuovi Orizzonti.

Starlight Keeper smells of night time at the beach, fishing in the dark, under a sky of stars. The title track is a dancefloor pleaser reminiscent of early 90s Dream House that soars on a synthy melody, pierced with an acid line. Twenty-Two is an arpeggiated iteration of Italo Disco: hallucinogenic, suspensive, vibrating with melancholic strings. The drums of Living Waves support buoyant sonic layering while the Chicago inspired Portal projects the listener to that moment when night yields to the light again.
