TALO MODERNI brings Modernation Vol.4 it’s the last compilation from 4 and this time on vinyl. We finish this compilation with the best quality in production with artists like Timothy J. Fairplay, Alessandro Adriani, Chino, Chupacabras, Leroy Se Meurt, Univac and Adrian Marth. The A-side sounds like a late-80s industrial EBM cut but with a strictly new future concept inside of each track, while the b-side goes more Electro eighties weird sounds strong with metallic beats perfect for the adventurous working DJ. Everything with that futuristic touch that surrounds us today in the electronic music scene.

PREMIERE: Timothty J. Fairplay - Altar Room [Italo Moderni]

The tenth reference of LATIDO comes from the hand of Durand & Kadriana. Durand has a good bunch of previous releases on labels like Nein Records, Factor City, Logical Records or Esthetique to name just a few. For this new reference in LATIDO, Durand is joined by Kadriana, who is in charge of the vocal part of the tracks. 

The entire ep clearly sounds 80s. The synths, bass lines and melodies take you back to the New Wave and Synth Pop sound of the eighties. "Blood & Honey" is made up of three original tracks steeped in dark desires, mysterious daydreams and vampires conspiring on a retro-futuristic dance floor. 

Alongside the three original tracks are two fabulous remixes by bosses Fabrizio Mammarella and Undo. Both artists have been able to perfectly read the meaning of the EP, and their remixes fit perfectly with the overall sound of this release. 

With "Blood & Honey" you will sing, dance, and feel like the protagonist of a science fiction movie starring John Carpenter and Tangerine Dream.

' Angé makes her debut on Wrong Era with the slick 'Daydream'. A record filled with instantly signature bass hooks and celestial soundscapes that encapsulate her dark, driving, energy-fueled vision. This vision is evident from the get-go with the anthemic 'Daydream'. A pulsating and undoubtedly infectious floor filler with captivating, eerie vocals. The cascading arps of '5AM' follow this tone, flowing in and out of acidic synthesis and piercing percussion. 

'Kevin' is charged with slick post-punk and flashes of shoegaze in the guitar work, amongst powerful vocal cuts and metallic synth lines. 'Sans Nom' is the perfect conclusion to 'Daydream', with an ever-evolving bassline and haunting choral lines. The Estonian producer, selector and co-founder of Tallinn's renowned Dark Disco event series has created a distinctive release with elegant cohesion, leaving us eager for another dive into her sonic realm. Continuing the trend of breaking new artists, Klasse Recordings returns with a fresh new EP from equally fresh new artists. FJAAK are a three-piece production and DJ outfit hailing from Berlin. Young and full of energy these newcomers turn in a stunningly original and well-crafted EP that is well beyond their years.

The Remember Me EP kicks off with its title track, an all analogue journey into a trippy underworld of arpeggio basslines and wonky pads. Robotic voices boldly repeat refrains whilst synths fight for space over a cantankerous groove. The track drops twice with great effect, making a great use of space and suspense.

Small Gadget heads towards darker territories, sitting somewhere in between House, Techno and UK Rhythms the track builds itself around a huge pulsing bassline. Minimal in its construction, Small Gadget's strength lies in its functionality and those spaces inbetween the sounds. This is a guaranteed dancefloor destroyer.

Seven Miles High is the deepest of the three originals, warm pads and dreamy stabs create an intro that effortlessly transports the listener to a lowdown and nasty bassline. FJAAK once again utilize broken beats and off-kilter rhythms to their advantage, the resulting track is a fantastic mix of deep, raw and groovy elements.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Clone Recordings regular Arttu to Klasse. The now Berlin-based Fin turns in two remixes for the Remember Me EP. Remix Number One is a blistering and fuzzy trip into the mind of Arttu and his synthetic friends, a detuned melody repeats over playful drum machine grooves whilst the original pads sit over the track. Remix Number One is available only on the KLS026 vinyl.

Arttu's Remix Number Two is a different beast altogether, aimed squarely at a deranged dancefloor somewhere in the future the track relies on the original's hooky melody. Arttu takes the original parts and mangles them together with distortion and hiss, shuffling snares and random hi hats create a manic groove that only the loosest can get down to.

Second up for the remix team is American producer and WT Records owner Willie Burns, Mr. Burns' work has recently been showcased on L.I.E.S, Clone and Trilogy Tapes and we're very lucky to have him on board for KLS026. Sounding like a long-forgotten Italo-Electro-EBM crossover hit, Willie Burns' re-works the arpeggios and vocals into a much darker and spooky direction....direct and straight to the point, the remix wastes no time getting stuck into the thick of it.

Beyond The Struttosphere is a new collaboration between Leo Strutt (Strutt Bros DJs) and Ben Chetwood (Flying Mojito Bros, Damian Lazarus’s Ancient Moons) aimed at channelling their considerable musical production experience and boundless love of cosmic dark disco. Their first track, New Frontier (Directors Cut), was self-released late in 2019 and is a slow-burning chug through the cosmos, littered with spacey vintage synth motifs and crunchy power chords. It found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnson’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, and was featured in The Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) recent contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series. The original is given a makeover by K-Effect, a stalwart of the dark disco scene. His take meanders down a progressive cosmic wormhole with driving basslines and trippy synth riffs that drive the tune to its spaced-out finale. 

The boys are back with a new offering on Gouranga Music, Rolling Thunder, a faster, more forthright dancefloor-orientated affair that means business. Complete with gnarly arpeggiator riffs, swirling psychedelic delay lines, a trippy vocal sample borrowed from Platoon, and their now trademark driven guitar power chords. The title track has been given the remix treatment by two aficionados of the scene, firstly the Mexican dark disco wizard Mufti turns up the heat, beefs up the bass, and dials the chug up to 11 to deliver a solid dancefloor destroyer. Cosmic disco legend James Rod delivers a second remix that strips the track right back to its core elements resulting in a minimal slow burner filled with dirty analogue electronics that builds up like a pressure cooker as the track progresses towards its conclusion. The EP finishes with a third remix by the in-house label crew, Gouranga Clan, which reimagines the track as a driving interstellar trip that is sure to spin out a few right-minded partygoers!
