As a conclusion of this tough year, hoping to start 2022 seeing this pandemic situation over, we have decided to collect different sonorities, all together, letting them explain what “This is not” is. 

“This is not” has always been a connection between different genres of music, with the aim to offer qualitatively good vibes only. In this VA we can find the essential nature of the party. Four of our main resident djs decided to make a suited tracks for this release. 

From the most housy one, by Samuele de Santis (@samuele-de-santis), to the rawest sound produced by we.amps and again to the great collaboration born between Marco Dassi and the new welcomed Katnada with pure Techno vibes…..everything well dressed with two massive techy tracks by the well known duo Di Chiara Brothers and the Italian producer Ruben Mandolini.

Tras lanzamientos en Hivern Disc y NitsaTraxx entre muchos otros sellos, el prolífico productor español aparece por primera vez en Calypso Records con un EP de 4 temas que llevaba mucho tiempo esperando ver la luz... y por fin ha llegado el momento.

La música va desde sonidos percusivos en cámara lenta hasta líneas de bajo ácidas y sonidos modulados que reverberan profundamente en la mente. 

La atmósfera de la música es enigmática, cinematográfica y futurista pero también melancólica y primitiva. Hay muchas habilidades en el estilo de producción de este productor barcelonés.

The fourth compilation on Sulk Magic starts in style with "Shrimp Daddy", a dark, chugging piece of electronic disco from label owner Bird of Paradise. It sets the tone for the rest of the collection; Dead Love Embargo drops the low-slung "Transmutation", while Emile Strunz and Kolomensky both venture down an electro-influenced route on the acid-soaked "Casual Violence" and brooding "Raving Raven" respectively. There are some lighter moments, most notably on Dharma's shimmering Italo contribution, "A Quick Passing" and the textured ambience of Stove's "Ocean Loom", but overall the mood is designed for sweaty basements - a feeling that is expertly captured by Ian Blevins' "Fleshworld", a throbbing, rumbling piece of electronic disco.

FuFu Records is thrilled to announce the release of a new EP since 2018 and 5 compilations released in 2021/2022.

For this special occasion, we worked with the talented, prolific and legendary producer Joi Lau from Hong Kong.

Joi Lau started his musical career in the early 90s when he got signed by a record label in Hong Kong. His debut Canto-pop album in 1990 went gold and sold over 25000 copies. But soon after, due to personal reason, he left the music industry.

During this past 30 years, Joi’s passion for music still continued and he never stopped making music. Finally, in 2021, Joi Lau returned once again to the music industry with his first dance music album, “3 UR MIND” on Klasse Wrecks. Unbound by traditional genres and classifications, it has drawn the attention of labels, radios and DJ’s from around the world. Among them, a notable DJ in Hong Kong praised him as “an architect of electronic music” and an “local talent with international quality”.

He was part of the FuFu Records Compilation: 88 – Double Happiness Vol.2 released in June 2021.

With a big excitement after our first collaboration in 2021, we have been discussing deeply about a new EP to be released and the wish come true with a beautiful release full of different energies built a story of “Gaia In Trouble”.
You can expect a trip from ambient/tribal to Breakbeat/Techno.

With close to a hundred tracks in his back catalogue of works, fans can only wait patiently and look forward to his next album.
