Every moment in life has it's own and special soundtrack. 
Eclectic and in it's usual Frieda attitude the "Moments Like This EP" captures these snap-shots, transforming them perfectly into sound. The three original tracks, composed by Ordinary Subject, sweeten the party horizon with the right groove. 
"Moments Like This" develops an unbelievable drive and with the piano play from Sacha Ketterlin reaches an incredible deepness. 
One gets totally into the unrestrained celebration mood with "A Jimmy", which rocks with guitar riffs from 50-51. 
The Digital Exclusive track “Tempora" is a powerhouse, that couldn't has been made better. Pressingly tight, the beautifully programmed beat unfolds and reaches a kind of hypnotic state with it's repetitive style, underlined by it's vocals. On the other hand, the "Cansons Charmed Mix" on the "Moments Like This" invites you to dream. 
While most dreams take place in black and white, Canson in his typical style, draws in the richest of colors, sending our souls into a foreign world. 
Before he smoothly sets us back into our world, he manages to make us glide on a slow trip in which the pictures start to reveal that our aspirations seem almost tangible. 
Last but not least, the "A Jimi" is remixed by the label chiefs Don Ramon and San Marco. 
Their "Spaghetti House Mix" transforms the irrepressible rocker into a bluesy ride into the sunrise.

5 Jahre schon?

Man glaubt es kaum. Gelebte Physik, denn diese kleine Tatsache zeigt uns, wie relativ Zeit ist. Uns scheint es, als sei unser kleines Baby erst gerade entstanden. Und auch wenn wir nicht eine hohe Release Frequenz aufweisen, stehen wir voll und ganz hinter jedem einzelnen Release, den wir entscheiden und suchen uns Sachen aus, wo wir finden, dass diese ganz fest dem Sinne und dem Gefühl von Tante Frieda entsprechen. Wunderbare Freundschaften wurden geschlossen und mit fantastischen Freunden widerspiegeln wir auf Frieda Musik das, was uns jedes Wochenende antreibt. Heute Nacht kommt ein neuer Freund dazu: Mark Alow aus Alicante. Bei vielen wird es jetzt bei diesem Namen nicht klingeln, doch der noch eher unbekannte Spanier erstaunt und überzeugt uns schon ein Weilchen. Seinen knackigen, treibenden, teilweise dubbigen und hypnotischen Sound entspricht genau dem Gusto unserer geliebten Tante. Nur logisch, dass wir ihn unbedingt in unser schönes Wohnzimmer einladen mussten. Auch sind unsere Potsdamer Freunde wieder zu Gast. Ordinary Subject kriegen es immer wieder hin, eine schöne Welle aufzubauen und diese endlos lange zu halten. Darum dürfen sie sich die ganze Nacht im Salon austoben, wie sie möchten. Begleitet werden sie vom einzigartigen Mastra, Henry Sure und den beiden Label Honchos Don Ramon und San Marco.

A bit of a deep funky monster is the outcome of what Ordinary Subject have done to "Mental Acid". The remix keeps a nice pace and stirs along with a gentleness and grandness. Dense with polyrhythmic grooves and stripped down on the melodic side... it carries a lot of soul and kinetic catchiness. We sure will hear more of them on MBF.

Das Tütenwunder ist zurück. Am Samstag ausnahmsweise mal früh ins Bett, den Wecker auf 8 oder 9 stellen und dann mit dem Frühschoppen in der Hand und bei Morgensonne im Bus richtung Hardbrücke fahren: Eine Party-Erfahrung die irgendwie anders ist als alle anderen. Klar… man kann auch an der Hiveakasha am Vorabend durchmachen und eigentlich egal auf welchem Weg man an der Wundertüte landet, Hauptsache man landet da. Alleine schon wegen der Wohlfühl-Line Ups die einem hier geboten werden. Alexander Siegel und Christian Scheel aka Ordinary Subject sind in Berlin respektive Potsdam zuhause und machen seit 2010 gemeinsame Sache. Dabei fokussieren sie sich auf die fundamentale Angelegenheit der elektronischen Musik und das ist in ihren Augen der Groove. Dazu profilieren sie eine Mixtur aus Deep Tech und Tech House mit dubby und minimalistischen Tendenzen. Neben den deutschen Gästen spielen AndHazel, Bonny & Clyde, Frenchwork, Lara Love, San Marco und Valentino.

BIOGRAPHY

Two creative minds united in one thing - finding the perfect groove. This is the best way to describe the duo ordinary subject aka Christian and Alexander. When their paths crossed in 2010, it quickly became clear that this combination had potential. This proved to be true in numerous gigs in Germany and across Europe as well as countless studio sessions. 

This many years of experience in playing at various clubs and festivals results in a fine feeling for the dance floor. Their current sets are characterized by concise baseline grooves and percussive elements. Which over the years has also become their signature sound. 

To express their own vision of deep and groovy music, they founded the label REDUCED records in 2103. REDUCED records is not only platform for Ordinary Subject to release their own music, it’s also a creative space for like - minded artist. 

Over the years they released on labels like: Defected, MBF, Yoruba Grooves, Bondage Music, Baile Musik, Krad records, Frieda Musik and numerous others.
