One of the four great haiku masters, Yosa Buson studied both Japanese and Chinese poetry. He was also an accomplished painter, and most of his poems were accompanied by paintings, resulting in a more diverse and individual set of works than the one by his main historical influence, Basho.

This is a short soundtrack I wrote for Lone Rabbit's OST Composing Jam #7.

The theme for this jam was to create a soundtrack based on the image you can see in the artwork or to follow the text "In My World." 

I wanted to follow the theme quite closely and felt that both complemented each other so I envisioned the soundtrack as being for a game following a young girl who drifts into a watery dream world inside her head when she sleeps.

I imagined the gameplay as being something along the lines of a Yume Nikki inspired indie game, alternating between feeling mysterious and joyful. Though not without a hint that there might be an element of danger.

This track is an experimental little thing made for the 666th Disquiet Junto. It uses ‘the devil’s interval’ of chords made up from notes 6 semitones apart, a mix of 4/4 and 6/4 and, of course, it’s 66.6bpm. I played with effects to add to the gritty, disturbing sound.
