We are so excited to welcome @opheliek to our mix series. The French, Berlin-based DJ and producer has an affinity for low frequencies, intricate percussions and bass-heavy music in all its forms. As an early lover of dub music, UK techno, IDM, and illegal raves, their sound often finds itself at the intersection between dubstep, techno, IDM, with hints of psychedelic music and trance.

“I had quite a different idea originally for this mix, but ended up being quite ill and super tired the last few days, so the recording had to be much more spontaneous and less planned than what I usually like to do for a podcast. It's more of a feverish dream, and showed me I may have some bottled up feelings and a bit of anger inside (who doesn't, seeing the world we live in now)! It felt good to express it through this mix which ended up being quite intense and psychedelic, but also softer and more introspective in parts.”

For this next entry in the Embodiment series, we’re proud to share a deeply atmospheric and intuitively woven mix by BLUME.

"Lately I’ve been dwelling in a strange in-between," BLUME shares, "and this mix lives there too. No bpm to hold onto, no genre to fall into. Ghosted rhythms, soft dissonance, moments of friction, and traces of fourth world brass dissolving into smoke. Not meant to resolve, just to linger."

Close brother, Sunburn crew co-founder and Ngunnawal/Ngambri based Fontenoy with a patient melter that slowly arranges into deep and dark meticulous spaces. Thrumming atmospheres in combination  with thriving basslines that echo inside our inner being. He brings us into a new density of warped sonics. I'm highly recommending his @stockgrazing label that just saw the light. 

I’m very pleased that he participated and will be the one to guide us through his musical fascinations.

Aura Sonora return with a second release to follow up the fantastic first one, this time it brings together two meticulous studio craftsmen, DYL & Tammo Hesselink. Their 'Moire Patterns' EP kicks off with 'Pattern 1', a deep and rhythmic slice of rubbery techno that rides broken beats with atmospheric pulses up top. 'Pattern 2 slows down to a predatory crawl with icy pads making for a dystopian vibe then 'Pattern 3' brings a sense of mystic tribal ritual deep in some futuristic jungle and 'Pattern 4' closes down with more fantastically crafted, dubby, broken rhythms that are topped with organic percussion and almost impossible not to move to. Pure rhythm science brilliance.

We’re beyond happy to finally share the very first recording from Refractor.

This one captures around an hour of the captivating live set by the talented French artist trois quarts taxi system, who guided us from daylight into dusk on the second day of the gathering. A sonic passage, subtle yet powerful, weaving us gently through time.

Kyntral is a co-founder of the Argentinian label Danza Nativa and he serves up a deeply immersive trip here. 'Inner Depths' is liquid deep techno in the mould of Neel or Donato Dozzy. Percolating rhythms and dubby undercurrents subsume mind and body while deft little details place you underwater. 'Bloodstone' is a little more lumpy with gentle smattering of percussion of drums that bump. 'Ancient Apparition' is a spacious sound with wispy pads disappearing to infinity, glassy tinkles and undulating drums all getting you into a meditative state. The Patrick Russell Phantom remix is more warped and dark to add a nice counterpoint.
