Mach Mal Langsam - Slow Down Sounds

The original track was taken from long play album by Nickodemus "A Long Engagement". With this recording from 2018 Nickodemus has continued to spread his global sound through endless DJ tours, recording in studios, and scouting new music for his acclaimed Wonderwheel label.

Our decelerated version was developed in beautiful Rheingau, Germany in #LoiLoiLab as a contribution to "WOMEX 2020 Challenge" - a Remix Competition: Remix This #259 on the platform metapop.com It has been carried out by Womex(Worldmusicexpo) & Native Instruments

Although we've got no prize, we had much fun and great experience to work with high quality stems and a friendly permission from Nickodemus to release a track on bandcamp & soundcloud.

We are very happy finally to present the result nicknamed as "Loikodemus" during the production. Grab your digital copy for free or a donation. We want you to enjoy it, as much as we do!

It is our first LIVE recording since long time. It was made in Haus Mainusch in Mainz deep in the night of 14.01.2023. This is a kind of document of this epic event, a first really self made party by @machmallangsam collective after almost three years of absence!

With this recording we have cached the atmosphere of this charming place und it's beautiful visitors, day over at about 2pm on Saturday 17.08.24 and translated it in two hours of music!

A few weeks ago, Janeck had the honor of giving a lecture on DJ culture to students of Ethnology at the University of Mainz.
His mission: to help them develop their own DJ sets based on musical traditions from various African countries — from Kenyan reggae and Malian Wassoulou to Kwaito and Nigerian Afrobeat.

To illustrate our own approach to music from Africa and the African diaspora, we've recorded this mixtape. It reflects our deep passion for African grooves and the rich diversity of styles and genres across the continent.

As we hiked along the west coast of India, 
we met our primary psychedelic music guru, Goa Gil. 
As we enjoyed the sundown together, 
Gil reported about his former Germany excursions, 
especially about the amazing and inspirational energy 
emitted by the Taunus mountains. 
As chance would favor, we are residentially located near this area. 
So we found a suitable and magic place to transform this energy into something tangible. 
We have created a new piece of music, 
the turn of a page in the book, 
a new shade of light from our prism.

Rhineland-Palatinate is an aria of wine & fruits and has a couple of really beautiful places like the German Wine Route - die Weinstraße! And we are always happy to visit Neustadt an der Weinstraße and bring our tunes and good vibes to Suite-Club...
Especially nice for us is to play in the Suite's Garden, especially at daytime...

We were mesmerized from this epic song since a long time and are really happy to show you the result! It is full of respect and love to the original...

On 04.02.2021 we were invited to play a vinyl dj set in a beautiful Park "Rosenhöhe" in Darmstadt as a part of exhibition »Kulturteilchen« by Oha.Osthang crew(@oha-osthang)...
They designed some objects for the project "Kultur einer Digitalstadt", happening there. It was a huge pleasure to participate and to observe visitors and passers confronted with peaces of art & exotic melodies, could be heard through little speakers and mobile devices online (via the QR code) 
To play music in real for people during the actual lockdown was so exiting and amazing! We hope, this recording could transport such overwhelming feelings...
