Kinshasa One Two was made during 5 days of sessions in Kinshasa this summer when the DRC Music collective teamed up with the best of contemporary Congolese musicians and performers. The collective comprises the eclectic production talents of: T-E-E-D (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs), Dan The Automator, Jneiro Jarel, Richard Russell, Actress, Marc Antoine, Alwest, Remi Kabaka, Rodaidh McDonald and Kwes, with album artwork by Hardy Blechman and Aitor Throup.

The delicate remix floats with pulsating tones, deep low-end rumbles and soft, emotive vocals. We can imagine Dixon dropping it now, eyes closed and finger in the air. We think you should put this on and do the same. Beautiful stuff.

Auntie Flo’s Highlife imprint drops the second remix EP of tracks from the Glasgow producer’s 2015 album ‘Theory Of Flo’ today (Friday 28th October), in collaboration with the Huntleys + Palmers label. We’ve got the exclusive play of Auntie Flo’s own rework of ‘Su La’ from it above.

Having been shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year award last year, Highlife and Huntleys + Palmers follow up ‘Theory of Flo’ with some stellar remixes from friends and associates of the labels, including Mark E and Africaine 808.

Auntie Flo, real name Brian d’Souza, works the album opener into a cut primed for the dancefloor, complete with a huge breakdown and chopped vocals samples of Shingai taken from the original.

After REBOLLEDO’s successful debut album SUPER VATO (CÓMEME CD LP 01) from two thousand eleven, his highly praised mix CD MOMENTO DRIVE (KOMPAKT CD 117) from two thousand fourteen, and all-around mayhem during his adventures as one half of the Pachanga Boys, Xalapa's finest returns with his second solo album MONDO ALTERADO: a recollection of moments and experiences from recent years, colorful mnemonics encompassing the brightest and the darkest. The result is a kind of soundtrack for a movie that doesn't exist, a sonic journey designed like a mixtape that faithfully reflects Rebolledo's background as DJ and producer. Nine tracks connect for one overarching narrative, sharing elements, motives, details, as they blend together. The artist's signature can be found all over the place, roaming between straight, rock-drenched drumming, sinister atmospheres, raw synth textures, exciting peaks and foggy bottoms - but always following the kinetic flow and relentless drive which are such a big part of Rebolledo's compelling charme.
