All the elements are there. Great sound design. Sweeping composition. Mix is off tho. Bass is forward, drums are pushed back.

looks like you are beating yourself up over the mix. honestly i love the vibe of this and that pad is just so so sweet. i think drum and bass is very hard to mix and create bc getting the mix on point is such a massive struggle. the drums are so busy and occupy so much sonic space that you have to pay attention to every sound and where it fits. great composition though and i really enjoyed your sub bass lines and that pad is just great

One Synth Challenge #164: Ghost (beta) by exacoustics

Trench has discovered that her combine harvester goes faster when she plays drum n bass. Who knows why? Perhaps there's some sort of spiritual connection between the clutch and the bass? The build is great - the cutter starts up and there's a steady stream of grain into the hopper. When you get to the drop, it seems to be racing through the fields. 

The only problem is the breakdown...

My entry for the 164th edition of KVR's One Synth Challenge. All sounds made using Ghost, a forthcoming synth by exacoustics. As of October 2022, it's still in beta.

Made using GHOST 0.3.6 for the KVR One Synth Challenge. Everything is done via synth, no samples or external modulation used.

This was a lot of fun to make as I used to spend a lot of time trying to make rock tracks using very old MIDI gear (like, SC-55 old) by manipulating them as much as I could. I went with a similar approach here.

Good free "all around" instrument. A lot of cool features, but not overly complicated. Nice sounding filters. The effects section may seem a bit rudimentary, but still has some useful options. Great presets that show the character and possibilities of this synth.

Still alive! Dipped out of my last day job so I have a little while to crack down. Though I got busy at the end of the month and didn't leave myself enough time to finish exploring all the ideas I sketched. So here's a menu-style theme! Maybe I'll remix it another time. This month's synth was a *mostly* straightforward subtractive synth, but it had tons of odd limitations that were fun to work around. Excellent for pads and reeses but annoying for drums, at least on my time crunch.
