Though we explored topics of societal ills quite often, this is one of the most important political projects that the Neighborhood Bass Coalition produced. Through standard NBC improvisation, we created "Atrocities" over several weeks following September 11, 2001. It was the encapsulation of the dread we felt about the collapse of modern society in the face of terrorist acts by all "sides" in the mounting resurgence of global war. And it still continues to trouble us today, fifteen years later, with no end in sight. Sardonic, desperate, chaotic and haunting, this atmospheric work still deeply affects my remembrance of that man-made disaster, appropriately named after the modern American technological cry for help: "911".  In respect of the album, I have decided to present it as a single track, to be auditioned in full.

Another fantastic Accidente Feliz release, recorded live and unrehearsed in October of 2001 at the annual NBC backyard BBQ costume party in San Francisco, California. Here we have 3 mad scientists throwing their wicked magic into a witches brew of insanity: ROBO regularly provides skeletons of his original ghetto-tech beats, DJ Skippy digs up and reanimates obscure spooky vinyl, and Zerø K peppers the broth with creepy effects, rotten samples and circuit-bent screams. And it all gets mashed up into a Frankenstein's monster that defies description, yet fits the mood of an incredibly unique Halloween record for Noisers and Beat-heads alike.

From Neighborhood Bass Coalition's "Weeping For America" EP (2001). We played many improvised versions of this following the contested election of George W. Bush in 2000. This track is assembled from loops of music zerø K lifted from several Coca-Cola commercials (the classic "I'd like to buy the world a coke", and the 2001 "Red Alert party" commercial) and embellished with ROBOs signature hard beats and "calm contrast" music samples . The "I share your grief" speech is from the 1983 post-apocalyptic TV drama "The Day After". Vocal samples of Bush and others selected and manipulated by ROBO and zerø K.

From Neighborhood Bass Coalition's album POSTTERRORREVOLUTION, recorded live and improvised in a salon-style performance at a San Francisco house party on July 7, 2002. The strange attractors of NBC meld noise, vocal samples, circuit-bent synth treatments and bass-infused rhythms, reflecting the turn-of-the-century psychic repercussions of 911 and the subsequent Bush/Cheney war profit machine.
