Orion is Adam Pingleton and Ian Dumpert. The duo met in 2009 in Lawrence Kansas. Both are classically trained musicians, who come from similar musical backgrounds. At the time they met, both of them were operating home recording studios. They quickly discovered that if they combined their equipment, they had the makings of a professional quality electronic music production studio. They became instant friends. Soon they began writing music and experimenting with techniques that utilized professional recording and DJ equipment to improvise electronic music, fused with guitars, keyboards, and other traditional instruments. A year later, they decided it was time to share their new music with the world and Orion was born.
