I wrote this as a 25th wedding anniversary gift to both my parents. I hope you do enjoy it as they did; and I did, writing it. I would also like to thank my friend, Chad, for providing the background music. Enjoy.

The Dictionary of my Heart

This was actually one of my first poems. It was inspired by this Spanish girl I worked with. My confidence with girls at the time was a low one and I couldn't bring myself to ask her out on a second date. The last part of the poem was an actual conversation I held with her. Unfortunately, she is ignorant of it- again, confidence got in the way. Enjoy.

My Eve

Writing this was quite fun, as I used to work in a bar. The inspiration came from a lovely bar I saw on MIC. I would like to again thank Chad for helping out with the productions. Enjoy!

High Society
The smooth sounds of loafers
The classic clicks of stilettoes 
The swift accents of blazers
The pompous glides of dresses:
The elegant ensembles of the rich
Exuding power, arrogance and prosperity:
The cornerstone of the elite.

He looks around yearning to be in the picture.
A picture with delightful dark settings bleeding out: lecherous clamours, sensuous whispers and joyous roars.
His eyes green, observing the regular shopper in the tightly hugged red dress.
He ogles even more.

An Old-Fashioned is snappishly requested for, together with a Coconut Daiquiri
“Fucking twats”, he brooded
"For you’d think manners came with the wealth."	

Anyway,
The messy-yet-organised construction of worldly liquor neatly stacked alongside one another.
The contents are skilfully-yet-fundamentally being poured into the Boston glass, one by one.
Rhythmically being shaken into motion: spirits, liqueur, ice dancing and merging with one another
All in front of a chilled martini glass
Bourbon is then emptied into a rocks glass
Gently gliding past and into the infused brown sugar cube and ice cubes
Dim light bouncing of the idle Boston tins

A few minutes elapses,
“A Coconut Daiquiri for the lady, and an Old Fashion for the gentleman”
Another minute in the life of his.
