Orkidea - Live From VII London 2023

I was invited to play a four set of 90s trance, techno and progressive to legendary VUM open air party in Helsinki. The open air event takes place at Ääniwalli which is the #1 electronic music venue in Finland. Set goes from deeper UK progressive sounds to original German underground trance & techno and ends with late 90s uplifting sound of Dutch trance. This was a really special party to play. Thank you very much Lil Tony, Ääniwalli crew and everybody on the dancefloor for the good vibes <3

Live recording from VII London 30.11.2024. Packed day and night at E1 - one of London's hottest electronic music venues at the moment. It was so nice meet people who had traveled from around the world for this party: Australia, US, Scandinavia, Germany, Argentina and so many other places. This is opening set starting with deeper progressive sounds and leading into driving trance crescendo. Featuring music from the likes of Marsh, Estiva, Rufus Du Sol, Argy and Tinlicker. My live set from the opening night of Trance Bar at Post Bar in Helsinki. This represent well what I want to showcase musically in these nights: wide range of trance from deep and progressive to driving and uplifting and from the newest promos to some timeless gems. 

What a night the opening was! Packed house with over 500 people, great and varied set of artists and their versions of "trance". Next event on Easter Thursday 17.04.2025 with myself, MFM of Below0, Joni DJ from Post Bar and Cool DJ Pinball Heikki from Skorpioni. So happy that there is a regular trance night in Helsinki again <3

Orkidea has been one of Scandinavia’s leading DJs since the early 90s. He is best known for his unique blend of trance and progressive: credible and firmly rooted in the underground origins of trance. His music has been supported by a wide variety of DJs from the ultimate taste makers such as Pete Tong and Sasha to stadium filling titans Armin van Buuren and Tiesto. All artists that he has enjoyed sharing the stage with too.

Tapio Hakanen aka Orkidea has released four full length albums for Black Hole, AVA and Universal Music. He is best known for classics such as Unity, YearZero and Nana and timeless remixes of Way Out West’s Killa, Aalto’s Rush and Tiesto’s Flight 643. Since his first gigs at illegal squat house underground raves in 1992, Orkidea has played over 2000 gigs around the world at legendary venues such as Ministry of Sound in London, Cafe del Mar in Ibiza, Tresor in Berlin, Pacha in Buenos Aires and Avalon in Los Angeles, as well as some of world’s most prestigious events including Dreamstate USA, Luminosity, Transmission and Amsterdam ADE.
