this is my most ambitious project to date and i spent a good amount of time working on this! this is my first actual album under this new name that doesn't include any tracks from my previous self.. this album dives into my mental state and how i feel most of the time + this album is the last project i'll release before i start my life as a "non-teen" experience in life.

after this releases, i'm gonna evolve into a new person, abandoning my past self and my mistakes to become a new and better version of myself.

Sticking a dirty thumb in the eye of fate, our third collaboration sees our marrow deep family malarky turn official as Pace Yourself teams up with YS’s own imprint Erf Records for a split release.

Burn is the second YS album and written as a direct follow-up album to Brutal Flowers. If their first album was an exercise in the incremental, a construction of poise and patience, Burn, should be taken way the fuck at it’s word: it quite literally finds catharsis in twisted reverse. Birthed out the malignant kick found in deconstruction and chaos. The hit is radical and instant: a new way for the world to go up in smoke. Cauterising infected suburban minds world over.

Dunno quite what YS have been ingesting of late but this massively twisted LP touches on a host of gloriously fucked totemic underground sources while not sounding much like any of them. Struggling to conceal their tongues in their cheeks there’s an air of paranoia and proto-conspiracy theory. Leaving you feeling like you’ve stepped into a New World Order.

Burn like other works by YS, is its own ritual beast. ‘Moth’, a track which has been knocking about the underground deejai circuit for many moons, is a real raw slice of stoner erotica that reeks of obsession and unrequited desire. Elsewhere, on tracks like ‘Switch’, ‘Trying’ and ‘Drift’ the throughline from Brutal Flowers can be heard. Underneath the driving heavy gravity the trademark emotional intimacies of YS linger: eternal recurrence, ghosts of static and shortwave, worn memories of the playful and painful sort. The brief moments where flashes of orchestral ambience get out from underneath the swagger are so pure, personal and unguarded that for a moment they leave you completely lonesome.

A dubbed to death classic straight out of the annals of nowhere. A perfect postcard from oblivion. A bleak, bold and personally ferocious vision of tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow -

¿Qué onda queridos? Exploring cenotes in the jungle, enjoying the carribean beach vibes, having mysterious nights and some lush days in our cabãna ... This is what i experienced in tulum so far. Niim is the second release of the Mexican duo Tahumo with us. It is a lovely slow track and we asked funkenschleuder from Germany to do a remix of it. He made quite a few beautiful remixes in the last year and we are also really happy about this version. It is one of the few times, where the remix got faster then the original 😉 We look forward to hear more music from both, Tahumo and funkenschleuder later this year.
