Astral is an homage to our humble beginnings. Even though our main focus now very much is on cinematic orchestral libraries, Audio Imperia’s legacy sits very much within the sound design realm. Unique creations that can evoke emotions and serve a purpose beyond just emphasizing the mood in a scene and really take center stage.

Astral is a large compilation of over 7GB of sound design articulations culminated over the last couple of years and we are excited to finally be able to bring them to you.

This is one of the battle tracks of the yet unreleased game Anthador.
After I had finished the first attempt of this composition there was something missing. A lack of energy, character and vitality. So I decided to rework the composition and add another instrument that I'm quite familiar with from the past years as a singer-songwriter and frontman of my band: my voice.

As you set foot in Markland, the salty mist of the ocean gives way, swirling around your heavy boots as they crunch on the rocks. Unexplored land left untouched. The wind screams around the mountaintops and something echoes in the distance. You make your way across the steep mountain pass, your eyes water as the weather turns harsher with each step. From atop the cliffs you kneel in awe at the primordial alien landscape stretching on and on. Your trembling hand covers the yellow hazy sun as you spot wild shadows dancing in the dark forest below. The hearth warms your bones as you peer out the crosshatch window. The damp morning dew forms translucent drops on the knee high grass. Whatever was out there last night seems gone but the birds are not yet singing and the animals still hiding. You pull your trekking boots on and head out the gnarled door, leaving the heat of the lonely cabin behind. 

Save the faint caw of a crow from up in the canopy, the forest lay silent; Devil's Hill looms in the distance. Through crooked trees you go as the headache hits you and flashes from last night come flooding back; Hooded figures. Blood. The sacrifice! Through clenched teeth you gaze down at the compass in your hand. The needle spinning faster and faster. Anxiously, you look back for the cabin, but it's gone. Gone! Devil's Hill dominates where it once stood, only one way to go. 

Lush field recordings, detailed soundscapes and melancholic melodies drench this album in atmosphere. For lovers of high fidelity dark ambient.
