Deep inside the scorched forest of Mount Parnitha, the abandoned Athenian Sanatorium emerges from the shadows like a ghost, telling its own story.

Mysterious symbols cover the walls of the ruined building as remnants of a past haunted by illness, blood, pain, death and metaphysical activity.
 
Built back in 1912 as a terminal illness facility, it became a purgatory of souls , which “hosted” many of the 120000 who died of tuberculosis in Greece.

Although visiting the place is not entirely safe, it still attracts all sorts of "guests", usually after the sun sets behind the mountain.

Dark myths and legends surround the run-down Sanatorium: several reports about ghost voices, sightings of shadows dragging themselves through the empty hallways and Satanists holding mystic ceremonies.

A century after the Sanatorium’s establishment, The “Park of the Souls” made its appearance. Burnt tree trunks found on the premise transformed into sculptures depicting the horror of the Sanatorium inmates.

Shamanic Invocation 220 V.A Tropical Ancestors by Paleolithic Records

A little throwback to the past. I still believe that the best years of the night time psytrance (also know as dark trance, forest psytrance and many other names and designations) were the ones around 2005-2008 when the scene was just getting its own significant style and slowly separating from the rest of the psytrance artists into a unique community of its own. I tried to compile in this mix couple of tracks (avoiding releases from my homelabel Insomnia) to showcase my personal inspiration in space and time of that particular moment. Surely there were much more remarkable artists of that time, this is just a sort of example to show how it was in my point of view. Tracks by Savage Scream, Parus, Atriohm, Para Halu, The Nommos, Furious, Kin Dza Dza, Orestis and Polyphonia can be found inside :)

Я абсолютно уверен, что наиболее активными годами в создании ночной транс музыки (известной также как дарктранс, форест и прочее) были примерно 2005ый - 2008ой годы, времена становления жанра, формирования собственного неповторимого звучания, отличного от всего другого, что было принято считать психоделик трансом. В этом миксе я собрал 10 треков (исключая релизы нашего лейбла Insomnia Records, чтобы быть непредвзятым), выражающие мои пристрастия в тот момент времени. Безусловно, это лишь малая часть и далеко не все артисты, впечатлившие меня в те годы, скорее просто пример того, как это выглядело в моих глазах. All proceeds from sales will go the Lynti Khasi School of Umsawwar – a small remote village of farmers & shepherds located in Meghalaya, Northeast India- to help better its infrastructure. The Lynti Khasi School, with its bare basic facilities, is trying really hard not only to educate the children of Umsawwar but to also strike a balance between education & the centuries old traditional livelihood of the community where the children help their parents in the daily chores of rearing and farming.

Our thoughts create and shape the world we are in. Our dreams are a sensorial experience, a parallel reality that we create when we are a part of it. Our mind is much more than we suppose and emotions have direct repercussions on our body and cells.
Material things are pure illusion, just a mental projection you are responsible for. In every moment, as an observer, you project your emotional and thought intentions outwards. Minds model matter. Psytrance music is ever-changing: in this collection, the audio duo Autel-Antithesis focuses the attention to this kind of metamorphosis. The old concept of darkness represented in psytrance, meets nowadays catchy melodies creating a new believable perspective of chiaroscuro.
D Noir would like to give a big thank to all the specialists involved in this project, as they strengthen the research in X-genres.
