If you are a fan of techno and have paid attention to the most relevant producers lately, you will surely have come across the name of the maker of this EP. Roll Dann is one of the fittest creators on the Spanish scene and this is demonstrated by his work for labels such as Soma Quality Recordings or Mord among others.
 
His specialty is the most combative and direct techno, but with a solid foundation in the best tradition of this sound, the roots that come from the best British techno of the nineties, combined with a current and powerful sound design. This in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of the genre leads him to easily master everything necessary to move an intelligent dance floor and throughout the six cuts that make up this work he demonstrates it with solvency and professionalism.
 
Starting with the introduction Confused Smiles, Roll Dann prepares us for the storm that will follow, which opens fire with Ungrateful Skills, straight to the jugular, made with crunchy continuous sequences, with the appropriate dose of distortion riding on a compact and direct rhythm, all with an hypnotic and obsessive progression that makes it a dangerous tool for the most experienced DJs.
 
Interrupted slides towards more liquid terrain without abandoning the danceable impulse, but soon things get more aggressive with the emergence of successive layers and sequences.
 
The Guide descends into the depths of the underground sound, rubbery and smoky, stretching and modifying the frequencies, playing with distortion and aggressiveness in a risky but nevertheless very effective exercise in the club.
 
Excess of Power, a kind of rhythmic tunneling machine that pierces the eardrums and stirs up the sound systems,  taking us to the last cut, Creating Pleasures stops the machine and experiments with textures and industrial influences, a farewell in style for a high-voltage EP.

Claudio PRC is one of the most prominent figures on the deep techno scene, from his beginnings on a cult label like Prologue to his latest releases on fundamental platforms like Delsin Records, his career is impeccable. We are very happy to have his talent on the label and we celebrate it with a double edition on digital and vinyl.
 
Throughout six songs, including a remix by Oscar Mulero, the Italian travels through that pleasant area of techno where textures, hypnotic rhythms and intelligent arrangements are the starring..
 
We begin the sound journey with Zenith, slow speed, floating drones, crunchy textures and elastic bass provided on a mental and progressive arrangement.
 
Elliptic is a logical continuation of the previous one, raising the rhythmic pulse and focusing more on the dance, but without leaving aside mentalism, setting the pace to Focal Zone, which delves into the lowest frequencies and slides towards more club territories, again with the spongy textures as an addition.
 
Axial returns to the meditative approach, withsynthetic sequences as main component, mutating and changing in frequency with wisdom. Nadir is the arrhythmic farewell to this pristine work, a perfect environmental exercise that takes us to the last cut, the remix that Oscar Mulero makes on Focal Zone in which the components are energized and hypnosis deepens with Oscar's trademark sound.

If there is someone who is an expert in designing the best sci-fi techno, it is the Argentinean Translate. His impeccable career spans across timeless space and time, populated with works of the highest quality and precision, whether on his own label or on labels across the known world.

This is why we feel enormously happy to have him on the label and also to be able to give it physical form with a vinyl release, as well as digital.

This five-track extended EP represents Translate's crystalline, scientific sound 100%, seasoned with well-managed minimalism, precision bleeps and hypnotic, mental arrangements.

All this is administered at different speeds and sensibilities, sometimes more galactic and mental and sometimes more dynamic and physical, but always futuristic and timeless.

Looks like it was yesterday, but we are now celebrating 100 releases at the Warm Up headquarters, and who better to put the celebration at the proper level than the label boss and curator Oscar Mulero.

In a solid career spanning across more than 30 years, Oscar Mulero has developed his own signature in the global techno scene. These 22 songs are the culmination of a personal sonic journey and makes the seventh full album in his discography.

Across this extended tracklist Oscar explores the most scientific side of techno, where abstraction and alien sounds collide with precise rhythms and ultra mental arrangements, diving deep into sound design and studio mixing techniques.

On this voyage, the machine starts slowly, almost beatless on the first cut Aquí y ahora, slowly growing in intensity and groove on Percepción y conciencia and En un círculo vicioso.

The fourth track Diálogo con la realidad pushes the BPM rate and goes into danceable areas yet preserving the bleepy pulses and precise drum programming. The tension stops in the middle of the tracklists with Laberinto, resetting the spacecraft before going again into hyperspace for three more upbeat songs.

On a journey under your skin things go mental again introducing the listener into some ethereal atmosphere before the last quarter of this extensive alien opera.

This album is a reflection of a timeless approach to techno, to the roots of this sound that was meant to represent futurism and undiscovered sound territories through minimalism and electronic funk. 

To give a written description of every piece included here would not give justice to the sounds encapsulated inside, we give you, the listener, the freedom to experience it in your own way, listening to this composition in its integrity as an abstract film soundtrack, to escape from current state of things and enhance your mind and body into another level of perception.

Every Always. This body’s title track thus signals the start of Finalversion3’s journey, a dive into an inner world plagued with themes of family, spirituality, and hope. With all the originals finished a week before the birth of the artist’s son, every title unveils a portion of a journey of struggle, overcoming fears, and a strong sense of interdependence.

“Todos Los Siempres”, stemming from this long standing family ethos, is an emphatic tour de force, punk from the bone, an exploration of the hardcore-continuum in the flesh, and an exo-skeleton of battering snares melding the artists influences into a defining opener.

“De tu costado” and “Vulnerables” continue by building the myth of this release, swathes of metallic textures, constantly decaying dancefloor constructions with an uncanny sense of bitter-sweet around the topics of birth, vulnerability, and growth.

“Incompatible con la vida” narrates overcoming anxieties, delivering a deeply cathartic explosion of thundering club sonics.

The final original track, “Nacida en Jueves Santo” is an infinite tug of war between hyperspeeds and a smoldering dembow pulse, with the embers of both compacted together until forming a rough diamond. In Spanish folklore, a person born on Holy Thursday is capable of lifting curses from others, and as such, capable of keeping one’s family in good health.

Peder Mannerfelt sets off with the first of our remixes, club heart attack through and through, fear is imminent, and a robotic PSA reminds us of it constantly.

Stalwart Oscar Mulero reimagines our title track in explosive fashion, delivering classic D’n’B permeations into a carefully weaved fabric, broken Reese basses and infinite Amen recombinations ensuring nosebleed.

Answer Code Request’s dubby breakbeat take on the opener is perhaps, able to highlight a sense of euphoria that is more underplayed throughout the release.

This year, the spanish techno legend Oscar Mulero will return to the stage at rural, and we are happy to share the recording of his closing set at “rural at New Acao” in 2022.

This three-hour raging techno set guided the audience to the most intense and deeper world in the otherworldly main floor of “New Acao”, a gorgeous Showa-era building overlooking the sea.

When the PWCCA acronym shows up we immediately think about one of the most prolific producers in nowadays techno scene, but this phenomenon does not come for granted, he has been involved in electronic music since an early age, and he is not a newcomer whatsoever. 

His first contact with vinyl decks was deep into last century's nineties and soon after he discovered electronic computer rhythms with a primitive Roland Tr 606 Drum Machine.

Soon he fell in love with the raw British sounds of  Blueprint and Surface Records, Richard Polson, Oliver Ho, James Ruskin, the Birmingham gang … and that appeal to the groove has never left him since.

After a long musical trip as Dr. Cyanide decides to embrace this current PWCCA project we are now talking about, and this very long player means his definitive reaffirmation as one of the pillars of our label and as an extension to techno sound in general.

In this extended sonic excursion, PWCCA puts his sonic weapons at work with precise and pristine results:

Crispy textures, concrete bass drums, funky rhythm elements, rugged sequences, profound bass frequencies, all that always combined in super intelligent arrangements that seem cycled but embed a lot of soul inside.

Every single piece in this sonic puzzle has a reason to be there, nothing is superficial and every little detail has a meaning and a reason. 

It can be anabolic and gymnastic, it can be mental or asymmetrical, it can be from outer space or it can be from below the earth’s surface.

One thing is clear, his approach to sound is unique and this collection is a superb sample of his gifted capabilities with the machines.

Probably one of the most accurate collections of techno tools out there.

@oscarmulero is one of those artists whose sound is immediately identifiable. It has had an unwavering depth, headiness and atmospheric richness to it for more than 30 years, which is a remarkable achievement few can match. A famous non-conformist, the Spaniard's top-tier three-deck mixing skills and ability to distil techno to its most hypnotic form have also long stood him apart, as have his Polegroup and Warm Up labels.

Mulero's consistency of sound means you know what you're going to get with this mix: spaced-out, layered and deep techno brilliance. Whether more dubby and roomy or glitchy and intense, it's music for both mind and body from one of the scene's most low-key but high-class veterans. Our number 103 release comes by no other than Metro Skim, an analog technology specialist and true underground hero. He has worked for legendary labels such as Fat Cat or Steve Bicknell’s 6 dimension.

His personal vision on techno has attracted Jeff Mills or Dimi Angelis to name but a few, usually playing his works and now it’s time for us to have him in the house with a whole album.

Inside this collection you won’t find any intro or interlude, just raw and crude dancefloor exercises, provided at high tempos, rugged and merciless but mental and abstract at the same time.

You can smell the crudeness of hardware in every second of this workout from beginning to end. Tools that drill your mind and add organic spice to your mixes, carefully arranged and sound designed for optimal performance in the club.

Hypnotic and martian but also punchy and dynamic all this tunes definitely standout from the invasion of clones out there. This is timeless underground dance music at its best.

From the genesis of the project Metro Skim keeps things personal and unique, putting computers aside, maintaining the human versus machine interaction pure and direct.

Preview: Metro Skim - Tales of the Celestial Rift [WU103d]

Franco Biglieri returns to Warm Up after his Black Tourmaline EP from 2022. This time he serves us eleven cuts digging deep into profound techno realms. The sonic voyage starts with Reflexión, a slow paced, heavy reverberated exercise ideal for setting the atmosphere in a proper club environment.

Voces means a transition to sci fi territories, more alien, a little bit faster than the previous cut and surrounded by shuffled rhythm elements and textures.Things get busier on Falla Gravitacional, again exploring into outer space, pushing the intensity further, adding distortion to the groove and deepness to the atmospheres, blending the physical and the mental into one entity.

El Títere is a radical twist in style, the main sequence goes crazy from the first bar, reverberation is boosted and the beat is submerged into the abyss. Paralizado explores gummy and elastic textures, increasing the hypnosis and releasing the pressure from the previous cut. Profound and diffused but still aimed at the peak time hours in the dancefloor.

Encarnación Interna follows, keeping the reverb wash as an integral element, adding obsessive sequences and precise percussive work to create a feeling of travelling through a black hole somewhere in space. Espíritu Danzante preserves the same approach, as a logical sequel of its predecessor giving way to an alternative version of El Títere.

El Ojo de la Tormenta keeps the pressure alive, with a relentless asymmetrical sequence as the main motif, twisted and mangled wisely over a complex rhythm programming.

El Presagio is probably the most aggressive slice of the sonic voyage, fast tempo, drilling synth riffs and again lots of reverberations and texture all mashed into a well done arrangement,

Finally, Surface Culture slows down the machinery, providing the perfect construction tool using well crafted dub chords and liquid atmospheres.

It’s always our pleasure to welcome a new artist onboard, this time the chosen one is VSK a skillful producer from Rome with a plethora of releases on the best labels out there, causing a solid impact on the scene since the early 2000’s.

As is our tradition lately on Warm Up the album format is how we can showcase the artist’s whole sound palette and this Polarization LP truly does.

Like a game is the beatless opening track, the sound of an imaginary spaceship aligning its machinery. Once all is set up Ethical design starts the movement, combining a broken groove with assorted bleeps and hi pitched frequencies, setting the pace for The evil speech a track stepping directly into the dancefloor with a solid groove and white noise washes swinging along.

Tension division penetrates mind and body with piercing continuous sequences and a relentless rhythm while Limitless increases the pace and goes one step further in hypnosis with a more intricate arrangement.

Polarization introduces gummy and elastic sounds on the equation, maintaining the anabolic groove, now almost industrial, providing all the necessary elements to create a peak time monster.

It could be the end keeps the energy untouched, at a higher BPM rate becomes an orgy of white noise and sub frequencies, again created to demolish any proper sound system out there as well as Extreme close up, bringing nothing but heat to the collection.

The urge for dance stops suddenly with Don’t think and don't speak, acting as an interlude to the last cut, Veloce come il vento, a sibilant and roaming spiritual drone to close this sound voyage.

This release arrives in two formats: a special 12’’ vinyl EP featuring four tracks that were previously available only in digital form, with contributions from A4, David Reina, Mod21 and Vertical Spectrum. We welcome Colombian techno master Adriana Lopez to Warm Up with this brilliant EP, five tracks that expose her own approach to techno sound, apart from temporary tendencies, with a character that is scientific and abstract and therefore timeless by definition.

This EP is a well-crafted combination of roughness and distortion with introspection and calm. It escalates from the glitchy pulses of the title track of the EP to the beatless and self-defining Quietly, with three sound missiles in the middle.

Negative Publicity is the first of those, minimal in the number of components but maximal in the effect provided. She works with the structure through subtle, almost imperceptible changes, enough to make the six minutes feel like a breeze.

No Fear comes next, again using just the necessary pieces to form the ammunition required for the mission: the right dose of distortion, the relentless sequences, the rhythmic tension…

Going Further is the third danceable exercise: metallic and merciless, deeply rooted in the finest UK tradition, pure pressure and machine funk mashed together.

Oscar Mulero returns to homebase with this intense four tracker that means a return to direct dancefloor weapons after the scifi and mental approach of his late works. Although being intense and direct, these exercises keep the abstraction and intelligence that techno is supposed to have since its inception. 

The body is the perfect example of this physical but complex approach, direct and gymnastic pieces combine in a constantly moving and evolving arrangement, full of twists and subtle changes but preserving the groove in every second.

Like a black rainbow uses a drilling bleep to perforate your inner ear while 909 shuffled hats provide the pulse required to move ahead. The bleepy thing evolves in frequency and the groove goes busier as time goes by, resulting in a mind bending experience.

On the flip side, Golden dome uses asymmetrical sequences as the main course, helped with micro drones to improve the otherworldly feel, as usual, the elements come back and forth wisely administered to provide the required danceable energy.

Closing the record things change drastically in Sacred place introducing unusual cadences on the rhythm and sequences, a futuristic march of robots maybe a nice image to confront with the sounds. Not everybody is capable of working with such a groove. Definitely the highlight of this collection.

As a bonus track for the digital edition, A subtle physical sphere, a galactic sound adventure , profound and abstract, a sound voyage into the realms of unconsciousness.

Each one getting the essence of the originals but adding their very personal touch to the pack. As a result all kinds of techno flavors are represented, from the harsh and rude to the liquid and floaty.

We are glad to introduce you this Bandcamp exclusive release available on pre-order vinyl and digital, from label owner Oscar Mulero, offering us four cuts of precise and expertly crafted techno.

Transparent ray relies on a cosmic sequenced line, growing and evolving over a dry kick drum while additional percussive layers run on top. Solarized starts with a solid groove and gated synth sounds that change in shape as the minutes go. Liquid but raw at the same time.

Opposite is built upon an asymmetrical beat combining digital bleeps and filtered 808 snares spiced with delays and reverbs, a mixing tool in essence.
As a digital bonus track, Generator, fat bass drums, continuous percussive components in various layers, plus occasional synth action. 

Four cuts that interacts one with each other, made to be combined, frequency melted in expert dj sets.

This is the first long distance trip in our digital branch, showcasing a complete album by Divide who is the alias of Davide from the Italian Syntaxism duo. In this body of work comprised of 13 tracks, you can find almost every colour in the techno sound palette, from the ambient intro Parsec to the equally soundscaped last track Alfa Persei. In between these two relaxed pieces there is a galore of beats and synths.

The album grows logically, building up as a whole opera. Punto_ω evolves from a relentless groove spiced with FM bells and resonant bleeps to the solid and slow paced Sfera Celeste, almost dubby, with subtle synth melodies in jazzy scales.

Punto_γ starts to bring things directly to danceable territories in a complex synth crescendo. Followed by Declinazione, with random sequences and tight 909 drum workout. Asymmetrical notes blend to each other giving this chaos feeling that sure dj’s like Jeff Mills will love and play.

Coordinate follows in similar parameters, alien like melodies and arpeggios over a shuffled beat, complex and always evolving. Cassiopea runs in similar parameters, but with a more aggressive sound approach.

Antares introduces distortion and harshness and acts as a powerful tool as well as the twisted Galileo, elastic and gummy but still powerful.

Centaurus boosts the high frequencies in the beginning as the rest of the elements build from below, the kick appears after a few bars putting all groove in context as the mechanical synth lines take over.

Andromeda is made of fat drums and resonant craziness spiced with wise handled distortion and Nube reminds us the best moments of solid nineties techno: hi BPM, well cooked chords and 909.

A great and detailed work that showcases the skills of this producer, aside from the currently degraded pseudo rave invasion. Again music from the future made today.

Oscar Mulero's DJ career has been as prolific and long lasting as the evolution of dance music. As a key figure in its development, Oscar has always absorbed new trends and kept his finger on the pulse of electronic dance music, from the end of the 80’s right up to the present day. It is impossible to understand his genius without taking into account the tireless work he has carried out behind the decks for over two decades. Production-wise he's been releasing records since the late 90’s, with countless 12" vinyls and several studio albums, as well as many remixes for the best players in the scene.

He runs Warm Up, his very own imprint, since 2000 as well as the label PoleGroup Records since 2004, both of which have reached the 50 releases mark. On 2013 he started a series of live A/V performances under several project names like Light and Dark, Biolive and Monochrome AV.

In 2019 he will celebrate his thirty-year career with a very special secret lineup party in Madrid that will be much talked about because of its concept and the quality of the guests.
