Dub and reggae-dub are music styles that emerged in the 1960s and 1970s in Jamaica, known for their characteristic sound techniques and focus on rhythm and bass. Dub is an instrumental genre that often remixes existing reggae tracks, adding echo, reverb, and other effects to create an atmospheric and spacious sound. The basslines are deep and prominent, and the drum rhythms are often syncopated, giving the music a danceable quality. Dub-reggae retains many of the same elements but often includes vocals, though they can be sparse and frequently manipulated with effects.

Modern deep dubstep, also known as deep dubstep, is a subgenre of dubstep that emphasizes minimalist, dark, and atmospheric sounds. This style is known for its sub-basslines, slow tempo (around 140 BPM), and a gloomy, sometimes dystopian sound. Elements from dub and dub-reggae are often integrated into deep dubstep, creating a fusion of old and new.

Wiith this mix I try to blend dub and dub-reggae with modern deep dubstep, thus create a unique sound that combines the organic, earthy feel of dub with the futuristic, electronic texture of dubstep. The basslines remain deep and dominant but with a digital sharpness. Echo and reverb effects from dub create a spacious sound, while dubstep elements provide a darker, more intense atmosphere. The drum rhythms can vary from syncopated reggae beats to the heavier, more staccato rhythms of dubstep. The result is a musical experience that is both nostalgic and modern, with a rich, textured sound that appeals to fans of traditional dub as well as those who prefer the darker, more electronic sound of dubstep.


I am excited of how good this mix ended up, every tune fell in it's right place. With a proper deep and bass-heavy summervibe through and through!
