Ibibio Sound Machine are set to release their debut LP through Soundway Records. Fronted by British / Nigerian vocalist Eno Williams, they combine elements of West African highlife, disco, post-punk & psychedelic electro soul. Preceded by the pulsating first single 'Let's Dance', ‘Ibibio Sound Machine’ will be released 17th March.

Folk stories, recounted to Eno by her family as a child in her mother's South-Eastern Nigerian Ibibio language form the creative lyrical fabric of the album. A large dose of electronic elements and an approach as influenced by London as much as by West Africa, give the vocals and guitar lines space to breath without being overwhelmed.

From the banging sub-bass of 'Lets Dance' to the spiritual, gospel-tinged notes of the album's opening track 'Voice of the Bird', the band have turned in a dynamic and, at times, beautiful take on modern afro-soul music.

The 8-piece live band made their official live debut at this year's Transmusicales in France and will be a name to look out for in 2014

Stump Valley joins Toy Tonics! 
The Italian-Ukrainian DJ and producer duo (based between Turin and Berlin) will release their first EP on Toy Tonics. Stump Valley is an established name in the new disco/underground house and selector scene. They are famous for being among the Italian DJs with most knowledge of „Italo Disco“ and the whole culture of the Italian club and dance world of the 1970ies and 1980ies. (Italy was THE disco and club country in that period).
Their debut album „Natural Race“ was released on Dekmantel in 2019. But they got their first attention much earlier when they released their EP “Magica Movida” on Rush Hour as a tribute to DJ Peppe Afro, an unsung hero of the Italian Cosmic Era from whom they inherited a large collection of records. Following the steps of “Magica Movida”, in 2021 the guys released “Melody Mecca” a tribute to one of the most iconic clubs of the 80’s Italian Afro scene. 
Alexei and Francesco are by now very connected in the dance world. They joined forces with musicians and renowned acts like NuGenea and Peggy Gou. In fact, Alexei tours as an opening act for her DJs sets and also released two EPs under the pseudonym Brain De Palma on Peggy’s label Gudu Records, Francesco is a resident of the Italian diggers crew Ciao! Discoteca Italiana.
Their production reflects the Italo approach to the club culture. Their concept evolves from a dusty warm old school sound into modern aesthetics. 
Everytime EP is a message of love and unity that brings Stump Valley back to the feature with vocals that float in between house and Italo. The first track 'A Bun Dance', reminds of the early New York house but with an Italian approach. The singer is Detroit’s LRenee, already known for her collabs with Omar S on S.E.X., Fit Siegel and many others. On 'Lunatica', a deep italo interlude, we fly to the moon with the Italian vocals of Senatricks. 'Everytime', the title track shows a more euro approach to the house and pay's tribute to Stump Valleys origins with the collaboration of the Ukrainian prodigy Ready in Led that being based in Kyiv during these tough times keeps on spreading love with her languid vocals! Both 'A Bun Dance' and 'Everytime' come with the instrumental versions to gratify the 
instrumental dub purists too.

Brooklyn-based producer Jitwam takes to The Jazz Diaries, the label he runs with Casey Van Reyk and Nigel Mphisa, to release his latest vibed-out offering in the 'Purple' EP, which features a heavy dose of his distinctly funky, soulful and eclectic sound-profile.

Born in India, raised in Australia and now splitting time between Brooklyn and London, Jitwam's vast musical knowledge and diverse influences shine in his unique productions. When describing the new record, he shares that it's “heavily influenced by the rhythm of New York. The buses, cars, and trains... It feels like a night out in NYC, making your way to the club and ending back at the crib at 5 AM watching the sunrise.”

Here Mixmag premieres the lead cut 'Desire', a bumping and bouncing groove oozing with a smooth arrangement of organic elements, piercing guitar riffs and sensual vocals.

After a couple years behind the scenes label boss Peter Croce (aka Mr. PC) is back in the production seat to release 3 of his most prized edits with a message. First up is “Life Is A Circle”, a peak hour Philadelphia Disco classic, remastered and extended in all the right places for maximum ecstatic dance floor use. Rounding out the A side is “What Can I Do For You?”, a Gallery-era R&B proto-disco cut with a massive drum break that never got the 12” treatment that it deserved until now. On the flip Peter delivers some dance floor meditation, complete with tons of drums and dub poetry for the heads that dream of a better day. These 3 have been tried and tested on dance floors from Detroit to Chicago and London to Paris, and Rocksteady Disco is excited for you to have them in your mitts. The production alias of NYC’s Duane Harriott and Shawn Marquand, Devin Dare produce disco edits with a driving, almost techno-like sensibility, and this 12” showcases their ability to coax every last drop of energy from a chopped and looped sample. From the rolling thump of ‘Clash and Burn,’ to the percussive and bass-driven ‘Stop,’ the low-slung gospel organ groove of ‘Dust,’ to the explosive and exuberant ‘KOHO2’ this record pretty much defines what a rework can, and should be.
