DJ and Drum and Bass producer Matthew McKinney (a.k.a. OSCILL8R) combines the grit of his native Alabama with his advanced education in music to create tunes that are raw and defined. Heavily influenced by percussion, with an early stint as a standout in his high school's drum line, Matthew took his passion in another direction, honing his skills at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in music with a concentration in music technology. Not content to rest on those accomplishments, he took things further, earning a Master’s of Science in Music Technology from Indiana University - Purdue University at Indianapolis. He is currently adjunct professor of Music Technology and head of recording and production in the department of music at the University of Montevallo.

OSCILL8R's roots in Drum and Bass began at the first exposure to the sound in the late 1990s. His first release on Death Brigade Records, Jigsaw (alongside collaborators TitanZERO), is a smashing stomper that made waves in the under-ground community long before it was signed.

One of OSCILL8R's previous ventures was CULTure, a production team started with Roger (Iris; M.I.A. Collective - ATL, GA). CULTure's first release, Killer, was picked up by Combat Records U.S.A. and is available at most digital audio outlets online. In mid-2013 he was invited to represent 1200 Hustle, a premier DJ collective based out of Atlanta, GA. 1200 Hustle consists of members from all across the globe such as Dubnostics, Calvertron, Joust, Nextakin, Ployd, Casper, Stranger Candy, Jay Balance, The Beat Perverts, Neglect, Styles & Complete, Phil K Swift, D.O.H., and Otter, to just name a few. OSCILL8R currently hosts a weekly radio show, Future Shock Radio, on UK based web and FM radio station BassbreakzFM.com. Future Shock Radio airs every Tuesday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm CST on www.bassbreakzfm.com and features live mixing from OSCILL8R (drum and bass) and wife Kaotik Grace (multi-genre).
