Erika Remixes - Danny Daze "Beatdown ft. Translucent"

A slew of remixers step up to the plate to take on material from Danny Daze's ferocious electro-inspired "Silicon" EP for Ultramajic, continuing the young label's hot streak in 2014.

Trippy electronic veteran Erika (of Interdimensional Transmissions and Ectomorph) turns in two versions of "Beatdown" - a "Spaced Up" version that lives up to its name with a huge sense of space, spooky atmospherics and echoes galore, and a "Spaced Out" version that ties the otherworldly vibes to a pounding 4/4 pattern. Dimitri Veimar lends his talents (formerly used on remixes for the likes of Turbo Recordings and 2020Vision) to "When the Freaks Come Out", bringing out the track's darker side with bubbling synths and spacey effects. Seasoned Berlin techno producer Ambivalent takes on "Silicon" with typically impressive results, delivering an irresistible hook over minimal, angular drum work. And label boss Jimmy Edgar does his duty by slimming "Beatdown" into an addicting, bare-bones slammer complete with syncopated snares and chants.

As with its series of Metaphysix releases, Ultramajic continues to show off the embarrassment of riches it has when it comes to having both talented artists and friends, releasing another set of varied, top-notch remix material for the techno and electro fiends out there.
