In messenger work, a manifest is a paper you use to record and track signatures for the jobs you're given. Most contain around 20 jobs, so if you've filled out the manifest it means you made some money.  This album was made to reflect a typical day in NYC for me doing this work.

On account of Stunna nearly reaching 8,000 and DFRNT reaching 10,000 Soundcloud followers (or nearly!), they agreed that they should both give away a track. 'Dark Blue' is a deep, dub-techno styled drum & bass track, with Stunna's remix giving it more melody, a beautiful breakdown and something a bit more dancefloor friendly.

The plucked/felted piano you'll hear in this is something I modified in my studio - I used felt from the bottom of adhesive furniture savers (the things you put on the bottom of chair legs to keep them from scratching the floor) and adhered them to different piano strings - made for a magical experience!

Five years ago, microfunk community launched a project called “Applied Minimalism” and encouraged all producers to submit tracks with the condition that it was created from only one sample – the kick drum of the classic Roland TR-808 drum machine.
