For our 17th edition of OSCUR podcast, we are thrilled to bring you an artist that has became a true heavy weight in the worldwide techno scene. All the way from Berlin Germany, we present to you none other than Luis Flores.

Renown DJ and Producer, Luis Flores is a Mexican-born, Berlin-based artist steadily gaining traction in the worldwide techno scene, playing the likes of TRESOR in Germany, and festivals throughout Europe, Asia, and North & South America.  His 2019 set at Detroit's Movement Electronic Music Festival went down as a night to remember, and pushed Flores even deeper into the American techno scene. His most recent project "Belief Defect" with co-creator Moe Espinoza AKA Drumcell was featured in the Berlin Festival "Atonal".
Classifying Luis Flores's sound is a difficult feat, and that is precisely his intent. His personality and vast experience are present in every track he produces and his live shows often highlight his improvisational approach to dark, groove-driven techno. If you consider yourself an appreciator of the art and essence that is techno music, you cannot miss this.

Master mind, innovator and pioneer. Born in Buenos Aires, he was first interested in dance music when he was around 11 years old. Like many DJ's from his era, disco and funk were his first influences.

He started spinning underground music around the mid 80's. This was mainly for a very specific audience, people looking for innovating and new sounds. After that, Diego played in mainly every underground place, gig or party in Buenos Aires and all over Argentina. 

Known as a legend and a pioneer in South America, he introduced, played and promote various styles of music including: house, techno, industrial, dark, EBM, acid, funk, retro, disco, garage, minimal, electro and breaks. This sounds were played and introduced  by Diego through his more than 20 year Dj career. 

Diego can navigate and play almost every electronic dance style, with enough versatility to play house or banging techno depending on the club and the mood, he builds a special kind of set that defines his open minded style, from the deepest darkest styles, to the funky groovy sounds. 

He was a resident Dj at Cocoon and Ministry Of Sound South America and also played in London, Frankfurt and Ibiza. He was he Mastermind behind "Wacha" legendary Wednesday night in Buenos Aires. And he also playied among artist like: Michael Mayer, Superpitcher, Tigerskin, Oliver Huntemann, Florian Meindlo Woody Mcbride among various others.

He was also a resident or guest in almost every club in Buenos Aires, since the early 90's. He played at famous clubs like Rainbow, Freedom, D´Light, Morocco, or Age of Communication, and also all the new spots like Cocoliche, Crobar,Pacha, Alsina, Voodoo Motel, Shamrock Basement, Barhien or Club 69 to name a few...
He's been touring in Europe and USA since 1993 and played in Argentina and all over the world with top Dj's.

Shared gigs with almost all Super Star Djs in the last decades, from Sven Vath, Marco Carola or Carl Cox, as well as Laurent Garnier, Sacha, Oliver Huntemann or Loco Dice, also Ricardo Villalobos, Michael Mayer, Andre Galuzzi and Richie Hawtin, among many more..

Anomali is a multidisciplinary creative project founded in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The project was initiated in early 2020, and builds on decades of audiovisual experiments.

The initiative was born out of a desire to explore how digital technology enables new perspectives and expressions, and how audio and visual elements can be combined to convey what words cannot communicate.

Growing up with both rave culture and the demoscene, an early digital art subculture, exposed the projects founder of the possibilities of these tools at a young age. This has lead to the development of a unique narrative voice.

Inspiration comes from the current stage of development for humanity, and how to survive in the ever changing landscape of a hyper-connected world that has lost touch with inner truths.

Luca Redivo, in art R/D/V, is an Amsterdam-based audio engineer and Techno DJ/Producer who discovered his passion for music at an early age. 
Starting from his position of vinyl lover and careful researcher of sophisticated music, he soon came into contact with the European club culture. 
His DJ sets and productions are focused on a refined sound that vary between the most obscure Berlin Techno shades; they are characterized by organic drums and analogue synths.

R/D/V has recently released on Default Series, West Rules, Monark, Immaterial Archives, Eclectic Limited and Muted. He is part of the RRVRNT booking agency and has lately performed for Drone Existence, Atomar Audio, Cosmonauts Athens, Echobox and Studio/K. 
Whilst collaborating and contributing to conceptual initiatives such as ArknA Project, Luca currently engineers at his studio and venue 8sixA.

A founding pioneer of the Mexikan Tekno Mafia (MTM) in the Twin Cities, Cesar is a multimedia artist that has developed his crafts through the years, working with labels and creating compelling advertising for techno icons and events such as the legendary Movement Festival in Detroit.  His musical style is deep, complex and brings that bang-bang!

Lover of everything related to hardware, especially the modular world, in which he is now totally immersed, and uses it as the main source of inspiration for his live PA’s and productions.

His career is brief, although his work has been recorded on labels such as Aesir Records, Analogue Network, Seclusion 13130, along with upcoming productions that will be released this year.

An elusive figure known for dark atmospheric peak-time material, Fanon Flowers is a unique and respected techno music producer and DJ.

Fanon (pronounced Fuh-nahn) naturally gravitated to the more dominate post-industrial machine sounds of early Detroit techno and developed a style which combined hypnotic turbid mechanical syncopated rhythms. 

His abundant output spanning three decades has seen releases on Planet E, Modularz, and Pole Group to name a few. Early releases on the now defunct German cult label E-Com, helped establish Fanon as a credible international producer with uncompromising authenticity and devotion. Fanon’s musical vision confirms Detroit techno’s foundation while remaining relevant. He also provides a commanding DJ performance full of intensity, stretching the boundaries and maintaining a firm connection to the dance floor.

His latest creative endeavors have led him down the rabbit hole of analog production with both new and vintage synthesizers & drum machines. These organic sounds dominate his latest compositions, incorporating deep & spacey ambiance with groovy long sequences and dark energetic melodies. Yaleb is passionate about curating musical experiences that bring you joy & open your ears to new sounds.
Yaleb recently co-founded the Huehuecoyotl Collective, a live-performance experience guiding listeners to explore the convergence of Pre-and Post-Colonization sounds. Their performances integrate analog synthesizers and pre-Hispanic instruments native to Mexico and Central America, with a goal of educating and exposing modern citizens to ancient auditory culture and the dichotomies of everyday life.

Amnesiac Host started producing with hardware around 2015, but the inspiration for the project came in 2017 after moving to Los Angeles. The project formally began in May 2018 when he performed as a guest artist at the ‘100% Live Techno’ party during Movement weekend.


After premiering a well-received hardware set, he co-founded the label Darkroom Bureau with like-minded hardware producer Coarses, which the two have mainly used to digitally distribute their own releases. In addition, Darkroom Bureau works as an event promotion group, hosting events with artists such as Headless Horseman, Mike Parker, Silent Servant, Vril, and Lady Starlight.

Wave, a Dj/Producer from Mallorca, living in Manchester

Wave has rapidly intrigued Manchester's underground scene with her energetic and original sets full of choppy vocals and a rolling groove. His music is inspired by Dj´s as Sven Vath, Troy Pierce, Magda and other names have kick started his adventure.

At the beginning of 2020 he created with a old friend their brand @undergroundisland making events around Palma de Mallorca trying to give different feelings to the island

His passion for underground sounds grew over the years and that led him to start producing and mixing.

ROI is one of the most alert and creative minds in Spain, but also an insatiable producer, if we talk about experimenting with electronic music from all angles. This is attested to by his Fanzine project, which he co-directs with The Panic Room. And it is that, in this electronic principality, where everything is governed by concepts such as purity, elegance and devotion to music, people like Roi are admired, capable of sacrificing his best years to contribute their grain of sand to the cause, forming professionals.
As a DJ he manages, without losing sight of his tendency to dance and reflection, to combine, depending on the moment, a multitude of genres with coherence and enjoyment, in equal parts, until weaving together a story with a beginning, middle and end.
He does not lack notable virtues, but the ones that should be recognized the most are his perseverance in his musical project and empathy with the public on the dance floor. In the same way, as a producer, he manages to give coherence to a wide amalgamation of influences from several decades, this unique work is very personal, and like few others, it is capable of triggering a feeling that is sometimes disconcerting, familiar and welcoming at the same time.
ROI could be defined as a cultural agent, who, beyond bringing a breath of fresh air to the
dance floor, tirelessly seeks to renew the musical language with brilliant ideas that make that experience magical, unique, but above all, so much fun as accessible and enriching.

For our second episode of the OSCUR Podcast, we are pleased to bring you one of Canada's natural wonders, Mr. Atnarko.

Born on the Atnarko River in Northern Canada’s bear country, Atnarko taps into his wild side to produce and spin that underground house music that keeps crowds dancing till the sun comes up! 

Known for his extended sets, Atnarko lures partygoers into his musical den and keeps them entranced with his house music prowess.  His 2019 set at Detroit Movement’s TV Lounge stage solidified his status as a multi-national DJ that sure knows how to work a crowd! Not just a master-mixer, Atnarko has also produced some of the early break records that defined that emerging genre, including the classic “tunnel vision”, cited as an early influence by Maceo Plex.  His musical career has steadily flourished, and he’s grown organically into the worlds of break, underground house, and techno. With close to 200 releases under various record labels, Atnarko has definitely mastered the lay of the musical land. 

His record label “Infiltr8:celebr8” and monthly parties under the same name continue to set the pace for the underground events in his new home base of Orlando. He continues to blaze his own trails, playing and producing that electronic music we love, bending genres naturally. From the heart of the beast to your beating heart, we are excited to share with you this month’s OSCUR Podcast mixed by Atnarko.

PODCAST02 ATNARKO

When you say Techno in the West Coast for sure the name Drumcell will pop up. On our third edition of OSCUR Podcast we have the honor to bring to you none other than Moe Espinosa AKA Drumcell.

Drumcell was born as Moe Espinosa in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley. Far away from the glamour and glitter of Hollywood, he cut his teeth growing up in a vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood that still breeds inspiration for his work. San Gabriel Valley is also where he and the Raíz brothers, Vangelis and Vidal, met and founded Droid Behavior in the early 2000s which lead to the infamous Interface warehouse series and lauded techno label Droid Recordings.

A classically trained musician in his youth, Moe came to circulate around the Noise, Punk and Industrial scene, playing guitar and singing in various bands until he discovered the early ‘90s L.A. rave scene. That was when he got in touch with some of the heroic synthesizers of techno’s early years. His enthusiasm for those synthetic sounds lead to a career as a Product Specialist at Native Instruments and to independent musician and engineer work across Los Angeles.

By then, Moe was chuffed to pursue his own productions. When he handed out his first self-produced, self- pressed vinyls at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2001, he heard them being played from the festival stages the very next day. Since then, he has released original productions or remixed tracks on DROID, CLR, Electric Deluxe, Dystopian, Torque, Silent Steps, Blank Code, Ibadan, Detroit Underground, and much more. This style has caught the attention of many of the world’s top techno jocks, with strong track support from the likes of Luke Slater, Speedy J, and Chris Leibing. This style has also reached numerous prestigious international clubs and festivals. From Berlin's techno mecca Berghain to the main stage of The Movement in Detroit to North American nightclubs like Output and Stereo to festivals across Europe, Latin America, Japan and Australia - Drumcell’s sound can be heard around the world.

In 2016, Drumcell debuted his ambient project HYPOXIA on his experimental label BL_K NOISE. Inspired by science fiction soundtracks and the sounds of artists like John Carpenter, Wendy Carlos, Goblin and Vangelis, the Hypoxia release steps away from the dance floor and into a broader space of contemplative drama and rich texture. Producing infinite movement with his Buchla and Eurorack systems, Hypoxia all hardware performance has been heard at highly curated atmospheres from Berghain in Berlin to Brooklyn’s Greyscale Series at Output to pop-up concerts on the LA River.

Drumcell explores and discovers the analogue world as much as the digital world of music production, to finally combine them into his very own raw, suspenseful and hypnotic style. Influenced by a myriad of music as well as science fiction and machines, he has developed an addiction to analog synthesis which has led to ceaseless experiments in his studio in search of new, mind-expanding sounds. As one of the most esoteric techno artists in North America, his sound disregards genre limitations and is everything but conventional techno.

Orlando Solis also known as Submerge, is an electronic music producer and DJ from Chicago, and son of successful musician Jose Luis Napoleon Solis. The techno aficionado can now be found playing some of the world’s most renowned places. Known for running the label Impact Mechanics, Orlando Solis own productions can also be found on the pristine label Mote Evolver, Submerge’s technical knowledge has landed him an endorsement by the respectable company Allen and Heath and his knowledge of IT has also landed him work at the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

PODCAST05 SUBMERGE

The entity known as Arent Volten came to fruition in the beautiful Mexico City during the fall of 2017. The artist's music production pushes the boundaries of modern experimental techno, deep atmospheric soundscapes, and polyrhythmic percussion. His unique tracks are always improvised and generated with only hardware, many recorded during his previous autumn + winter tours throughout Northern Europe. Skilled in these particular abilities, there is no post production or editing to filter his sets once recorded live. Putting forth these organic mixes best represents the spontaneity of the project that is Arent Volten, and solidifies their status as a true master of the craft. In today's pre-programmed electronic music world, styles and labels can be quite defining, but where the uncommon Arent Volten sound really resides... this is up to the listener.

Tanya Leigh is a producer, DJ and noise designer specializing in the darker side of industrial techno. Since the age of five she has been active in music including performance, engineering, teaching and label management. In June 2020, she released her debut EP on OMEN Recordings, “ORIGIN”, that pushes the boundaries for modern techno. She has performed at some of the biggest underground techno events in the US, Mexico and Canada. However, due to the current pandemic, she continues to keep busy by producing her next record, with remixes in the pipeline and podcasts. Part of illegal alien, with a solid career in the Mexican underground, more than 15 years as a professional DJ and more than 12 as a techno producer, Fixon has established himself as one of the most renowned Mexican Techno artists who are making some serious noise abroad.  

In 2008 he signed his first release with the Argentinian label Mind Trip Music, owned by Juan Pablo Pfiter.

With release on labels such as illegal alien, Nachstrom Schallplaten, Vector Functions, Driving Forces, Phobig, Darknet. Anaho, Dystopian Rhythm, Fixon proved that he can offer some serious talent as a producer.

Fixon has had successful performances all over Mexico, United States, South America  and Europe. Has played in clubs like Tressor(Berlin), Fabrik (Madrid), Gare ( Porto), Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Utopi4 (Madrid), Vagabond (Bogota), Tunnel (Medellin), Bifrost (Ruan) and many more. 

His music can be heard in sessions by artist like: Paula Temple, Rebekah, Drumcell, Ben Klock, Antonio de Agelis, Takaaki Itho, DJ Emerson, Richie Hawtin, Lewis Fautzi, Samuli Kemmpi, Torsen Kanzler, Steve Rachmad, Cris Leibing among others.

Fixon launches along with Dig-it the Mexican Techno labels Vector Functions Records & ANAOH in which they call artists all over the globe to submit high quality music.

With an emphasis on raw energy, Tunnel’s performances are a kinetic blend of techno, cutting edge sound design, broken beats, and experimental sounds. Vibrating with emotion and intensity, his meticulously controlled and dynamic sets create an experience that exists somewhere between communal ritual and personal séance. He’s performed across the US, Europe, and Asia, making his Berlin debut at the infamous GEGEN event-series. He recently completed a 2019 tour of Asia, performing in Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Beijing at the storied Lantern Club. He is a prolific producer, with over 60 releases to his credit as of 2019. If you’ve been an avid collector of innovative techno and experimental over recent years then you’ll most likely know the label, Webuildmachines. The label’s prolific output of releases have garnered high praise and charted recognition from industry players and pioneers within the techno and electronic music community – Perc, Paula Temple, Rebekah, Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Ben Sims, Tommy Four Seven, Drumcell, Electric Indigo, and Claude Young, to name only a few.

Born and raised in Mexico, DJ & Producer Ricardo Garduno is no stranger to the global Techno-industry. He started DJ in 2004, which quickly led to exploring beat production. Ricardo founded Illegal Alien Records in 2007 and the label has quickly grown to receive international recognition among the most respected Techno production firms.  Based in Mexico City, the label continues to break boundaries within the global techno community, releasing tracks by label members Dig-it, DJ Saint Pierre, Fixon, Fixeer, Mari Matthan and Unkle Fon.

Ricardo's own works have also been released on major Techno labels including the heavy-hitters Warm Up, Plus 8, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Attic Music, Intacto and Machine Box. His career has led him on tour performing throughout North, Central & South Americas, Japan, and Europe, including a performance at Tresor in 2013.  Don't sleep on his latest EP "Feeding the Apathy" featuring Oscar Mulero, out now through Illegal Alien.

As an artist, Ricardo Garduno is constantly searching for inspiration in the day-to-day, exploring unique sounds through a variety of projects. His productions combine his creative energies and explore textures, melodies, raw sound, and hypnotic rhythms. His work to date is quite impressive, however as an artist Garduno believes there are still many milestones yet to achieve as an independent artist and through his collaborative efforts with the Illegal Alien team.

For the last full moon of the wild ride that's been 2020, we bring you Monophaze 

Monophaze began producing music in 2012 focusing on trance sounds, though with the passing of seasons his productions have evolved to techno & dub techno based beats. His love for music was first explored as a punk rock drummer, and his early exposure to those heavy, fast paced percussion soon developed into a passion for electric sounds created by synths and drum machines. Monophaze has become known for dubby, atmospheric beats splashed with energetic metallic sounds.

Known to play around town in Florence, Italy, Monophaze has also graced the stage at the Gibson Club in Frankfurt. He was featured on Alex Bau's "Love Parade: compilation project and has collaborated with Dub Techno DJ BJIKA among others. Hailing from the bustling city of Medellin, Colombia, DJ & Producer Joan Castrillon AKA ØBBEK developed a taste for electronic music at a very young age. In 2014 he began his first forays into the art of DJing and music production, experimenting with all subgenres of electronic music but ultimately finding himself enveloped in the commanding sounds of Techno. ØBBEK continues to perfect his craft with deep & dark mixes and hypnotic productions. His latest projects include a performance for DJ / Hybrid / Live set.

Secus has been a musician since 2002, audio engineer since 2005, and producer since 2010. He was first introduced to underground techno in his hometown of Los Angeles in 2011, which influenced him to begin experimenting in his own techno productions.
He has been releasing under the duo Motionen since 2016 and in 2018 began releasing his solo work. He has since released on his own imprint Ascetic Limited, Christian Gerlach’s Lanthan.audio and SF based label From 0-1. Originally a drummer, he is strongly influenced by jazz and metal genre's, translating their deep, driving, and technical elements into his own composition of techno. His powerful yet dynamic approach aims to satisfy everyone on the dance floor.
Secus has shared DJ Booths with artists such as Claudio PRC, Ness, Deepbass, Wrong Assessment, Viels, David ATT, Wata Igarashi, Jeff Derringer, Rebekah, Christian Gerlach, Mike Parker, Kangding Ray,
