Melifera Podcast ⬢ Biocym

The Sardinia based artist Ludovica Frauu created the fourth journey of our Herbarium mix series. It's all about a very fresh sounding groovy journey, an exquisit selection of gems, we are very honoured to feature this wonderful trip. Its story reveals a wide spectrum of moods which are mixed together in a beautiful way. You will stumble upon diverse textures, polyrhythmic drums patterns and interesting harmonies.

To connect the mood of the mix to the herbal concept of the series, the artist chose the plant Capparis spinosa (caper), which she is particularly fond of. Her grandparents had a large plant in their garden. They used to pick its fruit and then process it. The plant is very hardy and grows even in the city, as it is able to penetrate its roots into the interstices of stones. In fact it is considered a rebel plant, because it decides how and where to grow. The flower is beautiful and elegant and is an unharvested fruit, bloomed.
The first part of the set reminds of the flower, the second of the plant itself.

Herbarium No 4 - Ludovica Frauu - Capparis Spinosa

@johnplazamusic is a Chilean artist, recently established in Barcelona, owner of @linderluftrecords. His sound is characterized by minimalist percussions, continuous atmospheres, breakbeat rhythms and a search for mental travel and movement. Since he started with productions he has released music on labels such as @dosis-records, @furthersessions, @bahnbarcelona, @ancestral-process, @postdynamicrecords, @nferee, @spacetextures, @diffusereality, Obscure Sorrow and @aridorecordslabel.

@bahnbarcelona is a techno collective founded in 2017, organizers of events that combines an exclusive selection of international and national/local artists from the hypnotic techno scene. In the early 2020 they founded BAHN· Records, collective's record label releasing in physical & digital formats, and always illustrating what is the music concept of BAHN·. 

John visited Lolita alongside the Italian deep techno legend @luigitozzi and @absismusic at the BAHN·'s 5th anniversary last January.

Our next guest is an Amsterdam based artist who is passionate about two things; making refined ceramic products and composing deep rhythms within the spectrum of techno as a genre. He is label head of @profundocollective and has release, forthcoming on Circular. We are huge fans of his work and really excited and honored to present this submission to the channel, please welcome Noah Lyas.

Βorn, raised, and based in Patras, Greece, Alexskyspirit’s experience with the decks started in the early 00s in his hometown clubs and bars, blending his early influences of dark, progressive house with psychedelic trance. As he gradually honed his production skills and started shaping his musical identity, he shared the stage with some well-established names over those years, such as Edit Select, Keith Carnal, Charlotte De Witte, Dax J, Oxia, and Robert Dietz. His self-released and label-released material caught the attention of respected individuals from a broad techno spectrum, the likes of Amelie Lens, Joris Voorn, Abstract Division, Fabio Florido, Pan Pot, Deepbass, Ness, Claudio PRC, and Blazej Malinowski, who played his tracks on various occasions. Finally, this can also be a perfect example of how his sound shaped where he stands as a producer now.

his focus and sonic environments are weaved and led by his affiliation with the coldest season of the year, the echoes and the grey scenery during rainfall, the colourful and noisy urban landscape of the city traffic, and the impactful, awe-inspiring creations of architectural nature. His sound has a light, gentle approach combined with minimal elements of hypnotic ambience, distorted textures, and cinematic pads to conjure an aesthetically-pleasing yet deep atmosphere.

Originating from Czechia but now residing in Spain, our next guest for the series is the ever growing artist ‘Adelia’. Taking utmost care in her track selection, her love for deep techno and all things nature is the impetus force behind her mixes.

With an array of past features, notably for ‘Art Bei Ton’, ’Temple’ and more recently, ‘Monument’. Adelia has a profound place in the techno scene. 

With inspiration drawing from the infinite universe. Atmospheric pads, perpetuating textures and cyclical rhythms make her sound somewhat perennial; just as the universe may itself be.

For our twenty second installment we've invited Jorge Fons, a DJ and producer currently based in Utrecht born in Madrid.

With a deep passion for sound exploration, he has crafted a unique style that blends deep, dub, hypnotic, and organic elements, focusing on emotion and immersive experiences.

Starting his journey in Madrid, Jorge has since performed at clubs and events across the Netherlands, connecting with audiences through his storytelling mixes and the energy he creates on the dancefloor.

His releases on labels like Wabi Sabi, Nechto, Out of Place, Subsist, Immaterial Archives and many more, showcase his versatility. 2025 will show more music from Jorge Fons in labels like Aedi Records and a record from his own label Wabi Sabi.

Through his label, Wabi Sabi, Jorge explores the boundaries of electronic music, offering vinyl and digital releases with a warm and immersive sound.

'It was a pleasure to create this mix for Arthur's Hypnosis project, which I believe he's doing an excellent job with, crafting these immersive experiences — like the one you're about to hear.

This mix is made entirely from vinyl and recorded at home, making it ideal for detailed listening. José Diogo Correia aka Re:Axis started his journey in sound at young age, perceiving the vibrations from acoustic and electronic instruments as a tool to create space and travel within. He has released music and toured the world since 2006. It was the year he set the love intentions to share, connect and get inspired through energy and frequencies. All the experience and maturity acquired over the past makes him a unique artist of the dance music scene, whose musical development we have been following for a long time. So we are more than delighted to have the chance to host him and his music on our imprint. 

Re:Axis provides us with a mix that skilfully combines repetitive, hypnotic patterns with mystical and cosmic atmospheres, all underlined with a special psychedelic twist. He stays true to his name and manifests a real sound mantra - a steady movement around a central axis that is constantly changing and yet remains stable. The music becomes a rotation, a trance, a journey that leads both into the inner self and into the boundless outer space.
