In a slight change to our scheduled program we deliver just in time for Christmas something rather special. Singularly Voigtmann and John Dimas have been major players on the underground house and techno scene for some time, with their respective labels Subsequent and Elephant Moon both doing important work for the more electro leaning end of the spectrum. They have of course joined forces with devastating effect and the result is VO1GT.M4S – a back to back that combines both artists’ deadly skills both in the studio and in the DJ booth. This combination has seen key performances from the pair in dual mode and they were teasing new joint material in their sets long before they dropped their double wax LP ‘Internal Transmission’ back in August last year on the pairs newly formed joint label Intermission Records. It’s safe to say that Resolute is to New York what Secretsundaze and Half Baked are to London, Sash! is to Sydney and the likes of Sunrise are to Romania. In onther words, it’s a party that’s very much at the heart of its country’s electronic music scene. And at the heart of any great party is its residents. Maksim (real name Maxim) is a Russian DJ/producer who’s been a key part of the Resolute party and a resident since 2013. 

Known for his groovy and infectious sets (that clearly, reflect his playful nature), he found music in his teenage years and is truly someone who’s worked his way up: he even worked as a lighting guy before turning his hand to DJing. It was in Brooklyn where he’s found his calling, impressing the Resolute crew and securing a residency that would lead him on a whole new lifepath. As we’re such fans, we decided to invite the man himself back for another mix. And this one's another cracker!

As a producer their prolific discography speaks for itself with releases that have been highly acclaimed within the underground and also crossed over to bigger more mainstream audiences.

As a DJ they always delivers fluent journeys on the dancefloor that speak to the head as much as the body. 

For this reason we asked S.A.M. to come out of a long podcast hiatus and record us a brand new mix feat lots of unreleased music that is forthcoming and some that will probably never see the light of day. 

We are really proud to present this smooth flowing, high energy mix that will be sure to get your toes tapping and necks snapping.

Can You Jigit founding member Tomas Station has a different eye to most. His descriptive mixing style ensures that this Colombian says exactly what he wants to say through his music. An artist that has dived straight into the consciousness of the underground as a result of his residency for New York stalwart ReSolute, his own productions, the utterly outrageous Can You Jigit events, spotlight sets for some of the best sounding dancefloors in the world, wait, we’ve ran out of fingers. 

Here he flexes his undeniable Latin American lineage with wave after wave of off kilter gems that not just rattle the speakers vibrate the soul. With no irony whatsoever Tomas Station operates on a different plane with his track selection. Gritty house dovetails to Cumbia, while whipped minimal grooves are segued smoothly into ambient tones. There is a serious telling of a story afoot in this mix, that even goes for how the mix was even recorded. 

So, the story goes, not ones to miss an opportunity for a good party, while recording this mix at Why Not Club in Zanzibar they opened the club just for this occasion. What started as a completely empty club soon grew into an impromptu rave with people enjoying a magical unplanned moment. We have a funny feeling that their set at Sophie in Malaga will be full on vibes from the very beginning...
