Our 46th podcast comes from a 21 year old artist from Potsdam, Berlin that describes his style as researching the fast human cybernetic with progressive techno, trance and psytrance to create an elegant and epic sound pattern, usually alongside his good friends from SHADYLINEs and goes by the alias Pietro. Mix is full of fast trance bangers and includes unreleased tracks from Abem, August Tange, DEV, Paul Copping and TRIS.

On our third (but posted second) in the Dissentient lineup is Fredrik Westerdahl who hails from Malmö, Sweden under his performing name Megatech.  Fredrik was introduced to me by a trusted techno friend and equally talented musician, Viscerale, who had toured through my hometown of Philadelphia and left us in utter ruin after her set in March.   After bothering her about this and that track I came to realize I was asking about Fredrik quite a bit without knowing. After finding him on SoundCloud and reaching out I quickly went to work to find out just a little more about Fredrik and his incredibly spacious, dark and approachable trance tracks that seem to hit the mark on every level.

From Megatech about the set: “I recorded this liveset with Ableton and my APC-40 with loops and segments from my tracks, and then I went in and improved it afterwards because some of it was really messed up and I didn't feel like redoing it 🙂 I also mixed and "mastered" it afterwards in reaaally broad strokes so some of it is not so perfect. But who cares - I like it this way.”

MarcelDune: My sound revolves around hard hitting kicks and trance-y melodic patterns. If I had to describe my ethos I would say it closely resembles anarchy.
JADED: How did your connection with the Repitch crew happen? 
MarcelDune: Our similar taste in music and aesthetic brought us together.

In the subterranean of Brooklyn’s Techno landscape, The Black Hole has always upheld the original spirit of rave culture: come as you are and let go of any intolerances through the music. As raves have temporarily become a thing of the past, The Black Hole celebrates four years of sonic enlightenment in a virtual dimension.

As an homage to one of the most beloved raves in New York, 4 Years of The Black Hole: Interdimensional Troopers not only features heavyweights who played the event in the past, but also artists who have collaborated on the Whirlwind mix series and those who share a linked sonic vision.

Continuing last year’s VA compilation tradition, this premiere also includes artists who made their US debuts at The Black Hole. Known for being a catalyst for New York introductions, in-person or virtually, ALKHEMY continues this practice, featuring some new faces to the Brooklyn scene as well. The VA brings fresh, bold sounds to New York and America with artist origins spanning across the US, Europe, and South America.
